What I said has less to do with feelings, or anything about what anyone here in U-E posted, and much more in regards to how petty, insipid, and trivial the “news” beat – the article that was “reporting” this “savage bit of unsportsmanlike behavior” – has descended to… especially in light of what’s going on in the world.

Too often, we expect the coaches to do our jobs for us. If we have an issue, it's our job to handle it. 

For a variety of reasons, coaches will not handle these issues.

I understand what you're saying, but I may give the coach an opportunity to manage his player here.   Depending on the severity of the disrespect shown by his F1, then I want to allow him an opportunity to do the right thing and nip it in the bud.   If he doesn't - or if the act is too egregious - then I am required to act and will do so promptly.

 

We're asked to try to go through the coaches before escalating unnecessarily.

Fair enough. I agree with that. We just need to remember that the coaches are on the same team as players & parents. Unfortunately there are times where self-preservation prevails and they simply will not get involved to the level we need.

Fully agree.  Not wanting to pass the buck here, but not wanting to over-escalate either.
