Has anyone else been subjected to games this year so far lasting 2 1/2 to 3 hours?  Already done about 15 (AHSAA) games this year and the shortest one has been 2:10. One of the umps in our association did the three team HS tournament (three games) that started at 11 am and finished a 7:40.

Just curious...

A normal triple-header for HS ball is 7-8 hours for me here in Ohio.  I haven't done any this year, but I normally get Varsity games done in 1.5-1.75 hours, JV and Freshmen normally are under 2 as well.

I certainly hope that super long games are not a trend that we start up on Monday next week!

On Saturday, I did a DIII double header, 2 9's, 2.5 hours from home. First one was about 2.5. second one was 4. If it wasn't for Covid, I was gonna have another one afterwards!

I think this is the first time where I, ironically, can say, thank you Covid.

WOW.  Thats ridicules.  My partner on Friday had a JV game go over three--extra innings but still they need a time limit on JV.

The beauty of the game is that it has to be played out. No dribbling out the clock. No taking a knee. You have to pitch to the other team and give them a chance..

Thought JV was 2.5 hours

The top of the 8th had 11 runs and 4(?) Pitching changes, and lasted over an hour, with many errors. Oh well, that's baseball for you.

I’ve actually fairly lucky so far this year (minus a 45 minute, 13 run bottom of the 2nd). I had 4, 9’s this weekend and not one went over 2:35. We had one that was 1:46... unreal. But, for every fast game, there is one that is twice as long

Hey, at least we're playing this year!

Now THIS is the post that speaks truth. I'd rather be "miserable" on a ball field than doing basically anything else anywhere else.

My first game of the year finished 18-16 in 3:45 so..... yeah

I've got you beat in run totals. I've had a 28-11 game this year. VT scored the first 9 and then fell apart.
