it was two out and one on, It was a called ball 3, count was 2-2, Migi was up

I don't like to say much about the guys in the Show, because THEY are the BEST, hands down, and I am just a high-school umpiring hack, however ......I think Carlson has had better consistent days behind the plate.   I'm sure if you look at his night (entire chart) ...you'll see many marks in the exact same area called both balls and strikes......

It's just a part of umpiring ....

If you watch pitch #5, you can see how Carlson got fooled. Wicked E-W movement on that ball, that starts way off the plate. Focused on the E-W, he might have lost N-S.

That would be my excuse anyway.

Here's Carlson's chart for the night. Not too shabby. He's stingy in the lower right quadrant.

I don't know if Carlson is known as a hitter's umpire, but it sure seems like it from his zone from last night.  Upwards of 15 strikes that were called balls.  I know these graphs don't match the actual data perfectly, but this would indicate that he needs to open it up a little.
