I know how this works ....call on the field stands unless there's convincing evidence otherwise.

 

That being said ......the angles shown here don't show a tag, do they?

The touch/tag attempt was close. You can only definitely see which came first on slo-mo replay. And with a close touch/tag attempt and an iffy tag, it would have been easier to go with a safe call. Kudos to U3 for getting the touch/tag attempt order of events correct and getting the out.

 

Often we don't have clear evidence one way or the other, but we make our best guess with the info given. IR replay doesn't give clear evidence of a missed call, so I'm glad that they didn't second guess the on-filed umpire.
