What kind of indicators do you use? I have the one with Balls Strikes and Outs.  Had a guy tell me last night I had a crappy one.  I remember when these first came out and the one with strikes and balls on top were the crappy ones. When they first came out the strikes were on top. What do the MLB and MiLB guys use?  Just asking thanks.

Here is what I have now

Think your buddies wrong with his comment. I use that style and have for years. Don't need anything with 4 balls, 3 strikes and 3 outs on it.

I like the ones with the big numbers as I can't see very well.  At least that's what I've been told.

This is the best brush I own: http://www.umpire.org/store/product_info.php?cPath=38_50_51&products_id=123

Hands down these are the best, trust me, I have like 6 indicators in my bag of all makes and models and the Japanese stuff is all I will use.

These are THE Best.

I buy them for all my young umpires.

15 sets so far.

VERY well made.

I have over 50 indicators so it doesn't even matter to me. I do use a metal one from "Jim Joyce" with balls, strikes, and outs that I prefer.

I had newer umpire as a partner last weekend. Right after the catcher throws the ball down to start the game, he walks up the first base line and asks me to go grab my indicator because his is broken. I tell him to just go without one. You would have thought I was asking him to do quantum physics. He looked at me like I had two heads. He was shocked when I told him that some umpires don't use indicators at all.

If it was an NFHS game he was just trying to follow the rules on having to have one haha.  He is lucky I was not his partner since I never carry one when on the bases.  He would have been screwed.

How do you make sure they all have the same count?
