Anyone have any experience with this coat? How is the quality? Would you recommend it? Any advice is appreciated. I hear they ship it quicker than Honig's because they keep them in stock and you can send them back if you have to for a different size.

Have you tried contacting them to ask who their supplier is?

That's probably what I would do because the 3 main plate coat companies I know of are Honig's, Gerry Davis, and Feccheimer (or however you spell it)

It is Fechheimer. But I'm curious if anyone has any experience with this particular brand plate coat. Quality, etc. Thanks.

Fechheimer - has traditionally made the MLB coats. None better. I have one in navy and one in black.

Got the navy via Honig's when they used Fechheimer, and bought the black from AA at a NCAA clinic.

In the past with MLB, Fechheimer made the coat, the licensed company (Champion, Majestic?,...) put their label on it. in those days you couldn't go through Fechheimer, it had to be through a licensee. My guess is something similar still holds.

Gerry, what are your thoughts on the AA coat? I have wanted one for a very long time and am looking to get one in the next couple years.

Hi BT - If the AA is still a Fechheimer - they are excellent. The cut is right, the CP fits perfectly. Fechheimer is in the uniform business, so they get it right. The tailoring is very sturdy, even the inside liner holds up. The bellows pockets lay flat when they are empty, but I can get three balls in, four in a pinch.

And it looks professional. It was a bonus to talk to AA in person and try on different sizes; even without wearing the CP I got the right off-the-rack size the first time.

I believe the plate coats sold by all-American are made by fetchheimer.

They are. That's where I purchased mine.

If you are anywhere near the store, take the ride. It's nice to be able to actually try on the equipment before laying out the cash. It's also a way to help out a fellow umpire who would give you the shirt off his back. Rich Franco is a great umpire and a better person. Since he bought the store he gets all my business.

Fechheimer makes the coats for Honings (i believe, will have to look at mine to confirm).  I bought one last year, this thing wears like iron.  Pretty heavy fabric, quality stitching and construction.  I wore it for at least 14 games last season and it looks perfect.

Incorrect. The plate coats sold by Honig's today is made by Hardwicks.(same vendor that makes Honig's and MLB poly-wools.) This is the same plate coat that is worn by current MLB umpire staff.
