Being a fatalistic life long Bosox fan the first thing out of my mouth was not "Safe".  I am glad that Joyce had a better view of the play.

It was a good call.  Something that went unnoticed was early in the game on the pole bender foul ball...Joyce dropped to a knee to get a great look at it.

Any chance we can get a clip of that?  I'll search tonight when I get home.  I can't access video while influencing the lives of America's youth.  I'd like to get a copy of that to use in our training.

Joyce also busted his ass up the 3BL (as far as the play would allow) before taking the knee.  Lots of good teaching points and hopefully Thunder can find it.

Wouldn't it be ok to stay upright on this? I get a better view standing up.

Thanks for posting

The only possible downside I can see for taking a knee for that call - not that he had to call it in 6-man but might have to confer on it - is that if you're moving at the wrong time, especially if your head isn't going straight down along the plane of the foul line/pole, then the movement may distort your view of the ball and your perception of where it went out of play. I love that he was aware enough of the situation, and quickly aware, to get down in case that was the difference between seeing the ball above the pole and the seeing the ball go in front/behind the pole.

Though I didn't get to see much of the Series live, the crew seemed to do a great job. The only thing that comes to mind was the call in game 1 that got correctly overturned at 2nd. I was worried that the tone might be set for a bunch of sub-par calls, but I can't think of a dud call despite plenty of close ones.
