Good call, I would have liked a bigger strike 3  mechanic.  seems pretty lacksidaisical.

When you call it like a boss, you don't need theatrics

He rushes nothing and does nothing over the top. You have to remember he was the PU on the pine tar game.

And did that crew not include Joe Brinkman in his first year as crew chief, Nick Bremigan a long time rules expert, Drew Coble, along with just promoted to full time rookie Tim McClelland?

Did I not read somewhere that Bremigan was the rules instructor at one of the umpire schools, and by chance was he the rules instructor to the school you went to. Just asking.

Nick Bremigan may have taught at Joe Brinkman's school, or possibly Bruce Froemming's school

Yes, Nick was the rules man at Brinkmans until his death, then J&R took over . Btw they got the Pine tar call right by the rules the way they were written at the time.  Lee MacPhail  basically wrote his own rule and interpretation. .

At the time, MLB Rule 1.10© stated: "The bat handle, for not more than 18 inches from the end, may be covered or treated with any material or substance to improve the grip. Any such material or substance, which extends past the 18-inch limitation, shall cause the bat to be removed from the game." At the time, such a hit was defined in the rules as an illegally batted ball, and the penalty for hitting "an illegally batted ball" was that the batter was to be declared out, under the explicit terms of the then-existing provisions of Rule 6.06

And McClelland is also the guy that tanked a dp at 3B in a Yankees game a few years ago.R3 & R2 both NEAR the bag but neither touching it. Both tagged by F2. But in his heart, he was right. Too bad on the field, he was dead wrong. Just saying....
