He definitely kicked it and whether inside or outside he was late and his mechanics were horrible, he never got set and why in the hell would you move into a position that allowed the 2B to block your view of the tag??  Man this guy blows.  :no:

He's voted by the managers and players as one of the least popular ......

 

But ..........he's there, so he's done something right

 

Now, it's off to our Little League , Travel League, or High-School games (most of us)

He was in excellent position.... The look from the inside would have been the same. In 4-man "busting in" would cause you to cross the path of the runner or the flight of the throw coming from the out field.

Sure if he stops and sets there but he doesn't.

Crappy positioning by the 2nd baseman and awful tag.  1st tag attempt is 8 inches to right field.  2nd baseman bares some of the responsibility for this one getting blown.  Good slide by runner to the inside...

As it has already been stated, this play is simular to a play at the plate. The umpire can adjust as the play is developing...similuar to a swipe tag.
