Just tried a pair on. I think I'm in love. Felt exactly like my football / base umpire Zigs. Just like the non-plate variety, I went up a half size. I may just buy 2 pair from Ump-Attire using the 15% NCAA Clinic Discount... I can't say I've ever had plate shoes on that were close to this comfortable! I tried on a pair plate zigs today and couldn't even put them on because they were so tight/narrow! They need to come it with wide sizes!

I picked up a pair of 460s during an Ump Attire sale but never wore them on the field or outside.....but Im not that impressed with them.  I dont like them as much as the 450s.  Am contemplating trying the Zig plates.  I like the low top option, too.

I havent heard anybody who tried the Zigs on and didnt like them.

I have the base and theyre great. Next plates will be Zigs.

I couldn't agree more, I own the base zigs, the patent leather zigs for basketball, and 2 running zigs and love everyone of them.

Sorry to revive a post that is somewhat old. Does anyone know if Reebok plans to come out with the new plate zigs in a 2E or 4E size?

I tried the Zig plate shoes on in Chicago too and they are really light and comfortable. I didn't think they could get much lighter than the old Reeboks but they did. I liked the looks of the old NB 450s but they were very uncomfortable for me. I ordered my Zig plates on eBay last night. Someone has them for $104.99 with free shipping.

If an organization want to order 12+ pairs, they're $89.99 from www.anacondasports.com

Those who have purchased these:  are you going with the all black version or the black and white?
B/W base, solid black plate.

I would totally agree. I have the old magistrates as my base shoes. I am not a fan of the moon boot look of the NB460s. But I am concerned that I wouldn't fit into the Reebok.

Love my NB 460s (outside of the torn stitching), but I am absolutely considering these because everyone says they are very light.  A little worried about the only option for width being 'D'.  My normal size is a D, but I always gets a size or two wider for those days I work more than one game behind the plate.

I have heard that the D width might actually run more like a 2E width. Hoping to confirm this quickly. Can anyone that has one of these confirm this or not?

Nope. I normally wear a EE. They are very snug. I've been wearing them around the house to try to stretch them out a little.

Did you go up a size or two? If so how much?

I tried these out at the store yesterday, and they were very snug. I don't think the D is close to an EE. It was pinching me on the instep area of my forefoot, so i am not going to end up getting the zigs unfortunately.

I am looking at the possibility of Nike Airmax. You can get EE if you custom order through Nike.  That;s what the pro umpires were wearing at the clinic i attended.

I tried the standard Nike Airmax, and the Zigs. D width just doesn't cut it :P

What shoe are you referring to?

Depending on the shoe 10 1/2 or 11.  I went up to an 11 1/2.  Maybe could have done a 12, but felt I would have been swimming length wise.  As I've worn them around the house they've loosened up a little bit.  I may just get some longer shoe laces and lace them loosely.

Also, above..I'm assuming he's talking about base shoes...although rumor has it Nike is coming out with a plate shoe this year.

Most of the pro guys I have seen at clinics have the Air Max+ 2010 or 2011 Leather. One guy was wearing the Air Max+ 2012. The 2012 might be hard to clean. They did not make them in leather. I have a pair of the 2011 Leather that I got on ebay, but they are getting harder and harder to find. I have not seen the 2013 in person yet. I have not seen a leather 2013 advertised.

I wish there were "real" 2010's available! Oh well! Hopefully the rumor midamump heard is true which could potentially mean an honest to goodness base shoe!!! Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
