I'm going to wear these when doing solo softball games, maybe there will some spectators who want a "real" man. :rollinglaugh:

Just the fact that we're going to get the shirt should make you realize that I understand what pink is for, AND, more importantly, you should get the fact that my comment regarding the wrist bands was in jest.

Now, ... your comment is what looks a little immature

I actually thought the wristband joke was funny...mainly because I'm actually really not all that crazy about the wristbands. However, it is one of those items where we have gotten a lot of requests from those who prefer this alternate route for breast cancer awareness initiatives and was easy for us to get our hands on.

Now the shirt, I really do like how it turned out and the early response has already been very positive. I know I mentioned it on our Facebook fan page, but if I haven't here, $3 will be donated to breast cancer research for every shirt purchased. So please spread the word about that as well.

I am always disappointed by companies who sell things for "breast cancer awareness" but who do nothing much outside of selling something pink. So my awareness tip is this: If you are a female 40 and over, please schedule yourself for your yearly mammogram. If are male or not over 40, please remind a loved one or a good friend over 40 who is female to do so.

Jim, thanks for doing this. As my wife is a breast cancer survivor, I will gladly purchase one of these shirts and wear it proudly when given the opportunity to umpire in one of these games. I would also like to thank all of you who support this cause either by purchasing a shirt, donation or whether it be in spirit. I realize there are numerous causes that are near and dear to all of us and I'm sure you all have yours...this just happens to be one of them that is important to me.

I have a real good buddy in Ramstein right now..nice place, my daughter was born there.

I wear my Pink shirt just about every game I work Solo. (since most of the guys don't have them yet)

Fans Coaches and even players complement me and thank me. My mother in law is going through Chemo right now.

I am proud to wear the pink shirt.

You guys that say you wouldn't be caught dead in a pink shirt SUCK IT UP. No one will think you are a sissy!

Mazzamouth, is your buddy an Umpire as well? I am retired Air Force, now working civil service. My wife and I decided to do something different and go to Europe. I now have a much better appreciation for our country. I definitely see how much I took the US for granted. However, any experience is what you make of it and I am enjoying it here in Germany...besides, in a few short months it will be baseball and softball seasons! :D

JaxRolo, I hope your mother-in-law comes through this all right. My wife went through both chemo and radiation and it really sucked the life out of her. Fortunately, she is in remission; but she still has her good and bad days. I can't help but think about it often and I know we will always be looking over our shoulders every year. I pray for your mother-in-law and strength for you and your wife to help her though this. It's funny the curves life throws at us, hopefully we learn to endure and come out the better for it. Best wishes.

Well said, Jax. Guys, it's what this shirt stands for that makes the difference. I would wear the shirt if it was the uggliest neon green on Earth. But, fourtunatly, we have a pretty traditional design that doesn't look half bad. It's hearing stories like johnnyV and Jax that make this such an easy decision. Wear it on the field, if anybody asks, tell them it's for breast cancer and I promise, it will make you feel more like a man than eating red meat on a monster truck in the infield of a NASCAR race. Really.

We're umpires against breast cancer.
