I just bought and received my first set of New Balance plate shoes from ebay for $86.99 plus free shiping,wish I would have waited a couple days to get the better deals you guys have posted. Nice shoes, can't wait to use them! I was also wondering if anyone uses any additional insoles on their plate or base shoes?

11 1/2; looking for the midstyle one's but every where I have looked seems to be sold out. My current shoes are the NB450's but in a size 10 1/2, and my feet don't enjoy the tight fit and have heard some good things about the Reebok's.

did you try lester's upstate sports? The website suggests that they have them but you might want to give them a call to be sure. I have ordered other stuff from them and have found them to be very helpful on those occasions.

I use the Honigs brand low cut plate shoes and love them. I bought them this year after my spotbilts gave out. The Honig's are light, supportive and very comfortable.Never tried the NB450 or the Reeboks though

I had a partner this summer wearing some patent leather plate shoes that were either Honigs or Davis and were VERY low cut. I told him how much I like my Reeboks and he scoffed at that, saying that the Reebok lows look too tall and big/heavy.

This is the same partner who tried to tell me that on a steal at second base as BU, you should get as close as possible to the play to make the call, preferably about three feet.

I don't think you'll have to adjust your shin guard size. I didn't when I went from Low cut shoes to mid cut ones.

I prefer low-tops to mid- or hi-. And, I don't find the NB comfortable, even though I wear NB for casual wear and other sports.
