The Rite-Temp pads and the FSB should be neck and neck for the midwest ump umpire accessory of 2012. Not sure how I lived without either one.

I agree w/ you on the Rite Temp.

I just stumbled on this thread. I also went to Amazon and ordered a bucket and a bucket cover. While it may be too late for 2012 (I only have about a dozen games left before the LL Regional I'm working), I'll have a huge head start on 2013. I'm one guy who's sick and tired of lugging stuff to the car and lugging it back when I need the car cleaned out. This will help.

I have several buckets of balls now that my son is going off to college he will no longer need. I already mugged a bucket off him. I have several items around the house to add to inventory, but will enjoy the big lots/walmart/target/lowe's shopping spree. SWMBO will more than liikely add this to me calling a tv game with mask on to work on mechanics to the list of s**t she tells her mother about my insanity.

Guys I noticed something that could be essential to all of our needs. Some parks do not keep up with the bathrooms, so I have Toliet Paper in my supply bucket for when nature calls!

Done shopping. A few items I ordered from Amazon since I couldn't find them while shopping (ilke the WD40 pen. In the end, I bought most of the items on Kevin's list and added a few of my own. I ended up spending over $200 on the stuff for the inside of the bucket. And it sure doesn't look as organized as Kevin. I don't know how he's managed to put it all in there without the bucket being almost overflowing. Mine is, and I bought a six-gallon bucket.

I'll work on organizing it tomorrow. I have to add my shoeshine stuff (which is in its own kit right now) and some other things, as well.

I missed this in the thread...but what is the purpose of the WD-40 pen?

Stuck zippers and indicator wheels. And I got one because it was less than a dollar and SWMBO actually said, "Those are cool! Get a few of them!"

The FSB got it's first use today. My favorite new items I had were the mesh hamper (I wonder why I didn't think of this before -- I was always carrying handfuls of clothes and hoping I didn't lose a sock), the California Dash Duster, and the hairspray (A great idea for shining shoes). I also put dryer sheets in my shoes for the first time and instead of cleaning my shoes at home did them after each game of the DH. A blast of hair spray and I'll be ready to take the field.

I did have a few challenges, which I've addressed. The bucket itself got a bit cluttered, so SWMBO said, "I have an idea" and stuck 4 hooks on the inside top of the bucket. I've hung a few items there, including the dash duster, the shoe scrubbing brush, a shoe shine sponge and something else that slips my mind now.

I've added a few items Kevin didn't have on his list -- lens cleaner and dry lens wipes (in a Ziplock bag) and no-water-necessary pumice hand cleaner. The list will change as I figure out what I feel I need/want and add/remove from the bucket.

Recirculating withour rereading every single post. I would say one major component is missing from Finn's list... IBUPROFEN

That lives in the console of the car

That's great, as long as you're tking your console where your gear bag is.

I haven't, and I'm not going to read through it all (although it is a fun post to read) ..... I thought there was a "first aid kit" sort of thing somewhere in it ....  I know MINE has one in it.  It's just one of those stupid little first aid kits from Target for 2.99 ...sits on it's side in the bottom of the buckeet tucked up next to the water bottles, etc ....

What happened to K-Finn?

K-Finn is doing very well.  Extraordinarily busy with work and family on top of his umpiring schedule.  He's checking in from time to time but not posting .....

Now that this has been recirculated a bit, ....I added something the other day for the FSB .....

Home Depot (last weekend) had nice microfiber towels (18 pack) for $4.99!  SWMBO found them, wanted them for certain things around the house, and for the cars, .... and I said, ..."hey, how about you give me a few, and you can take the rest", I could use some for my FSB"

She just rolled her eyes! :D

Holy crap, I restored a car with less stuff than that. I would list the contents of my travel bucket but, clearly I am not worthy. I declare that the game is over and KF wins.

Thank you, buddy!

... I had this dude make fun of me for how over-prepared I am to work a ballgame. Then, I worked with him again, and he forgot his white undershirt (I had several, of course: crew, mock, short-sleeve, long-sleeve, cold gear, heat gear). But the best part was when he broke a shoelace (New Balance, of course), and I whipped out some shoelaces and a needle-nose pliers. He doesn't have anything to say anymore.

Needle Nose Pliers to  pull laces quick.....Great idea, especially when they always break while in the parking lot getting dressed....Will have to add a small pair of those to my bag....I have NB Plate shoes and they can be a pain to pull laces quickly...
