I got mine last week and have used it a couple of times.  I have the one with the 4 corners and it doesn't hold the smaller lineup cards very well, but as long as one corner is secured it's workable.  I keep it in my left ball bag which works out just fine.  I have not had the chance to use it with the larger lineup sheets yet, but that should work out very well.  Overall, I like it a lot.

Hi All - Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum and if this post is inappropriate I apologize. I am one of the owners of Sports Info Media, the company that makes the lineup card holder that is the subject of this thread. We thank you for your interest in our product and I welcome you to contact me directly with any feedback you have for any improvements or for any new products we might be able to provide for you. As you may know we are the largest provider of custom lineup cards in the US and are always looking for ways to work with related groups and organizations to develop products to enhance the game. Thanks again.....Mark

Hi and Welcome!

I do not have one of these holders but will be purchasing one soon. Was just waiting to see what the reviews were on it. Since $17 is a lot to spend and was afraid I may not like it.

I just purchased one, $12 plus $8 shipping from Sports Information Media.

I just hate to pay almost as much for shipping as the item!  Yikes!

I agree - it's a very steep shipping charge.  I also purchased a vinyl case for $4.00 which did not increase the shipping.  Figured the case would be good for holding rule sheets from various leagues, pregame checklists, etc. and I would get a little more bang for my shipping buck.

Thank you for bringing the shipping charges to our attention. We use UPS Ground so we can track all our shipments but i understand how the $8.00 shipping charge can be a real turnoff relative to the price of a single holder. We will look into creating a new lower shipping charge for smaller orders. In the interim, we would be happy to provide members of this site a discount code to use to help offset the cost of shipping. Please enter the code "Umpire" (without the quotes) at checkout for a 15% discount.

Seems crazy that something that claims to be so compact it can "easily fit in your back pocket or ball bag" could be $8 to ship.  I've had shoes shipped for less than that!

Dang - the price of being an early adopter. :)

Mark, I'm not sure the "four corners" version is an improvement over what I saw in the photo. The smaller lineup cards do tend to slip out when making changes on the field. Might I suggest a "central support" that crosses horizontally across the middle of where each sheet would be placed? This would secure the lineups better without sacrificing much writing area.

Thanks for the feedback. The holders were developed to fit our in-house lineup cards which are 5.5 inches wide by 8.5 inches tall. We have been through a number of versions including supports at the top, bottom and sides. Unfortunately we found that these "supports" tend to crack and rip over time and also impacted the "foldability" of the holders. That is why we switched to the 4 corner version this season allowing for better folding. So far the feedback has been positive. You do introduce an interesting idea of a single horizontal support which, in theory, can hold different size cards. We will certainly look into it or even possibly as a complementary product to ours to accommodate non-Sports Info cards. Thanks again.

Put in in an envelope and use good ol' snail mail for about $1.45

I hear you loud and clear. If only life were so simple  :smachhead: . In the past we have been burned by unscrupulous buyers  who claimed they never received the products we sent them. Unfortunately, there are more and more of these characters, surprising as it may be. That is why we use UPS which allows us to track all packages. If you look earlier in the thread, you will see that our prices were higher than they are now. We purposely lowered the prices to take the higher shipping charges into account. Hopefully, this explains our rationale. thanks for listening! Mark

Looking forward to taking mine for a spin tonight. I like the central support idea. Would be good for smaller lineups. Since my game is two big schools tonight I am betting on custom cards that should fit fine in my holder.

For those on the fence about the total through the company, I do have one (possibly two) for sale. Never used. I'm sure I can get them to you for cheaper.

New style or older?

Used mine tonight for the first time and I really like it. Neither team use the big full-size lineup cards but I was still able to make what they used to work in the lineup holder.

I really think I am going to like it

Is the address in NJ open for purchases? Or are you mail order only?

Hi - we are not a retail store and do not have a retail store presence. However, for anyone who is "local" we are happy to accommodate pickups at our office to eliminate shipping charges on whatever you order....Mark

Older.

I ordered one of the new models, but I'd buy one of the older ones off of you.  Drop me an email and let me know how much you want and the best way to pay you.

I'll take one if you want to part with it.

For those of you who prefer the older version (the blue one pictured at the beginning of the thread) we have about 50 left so if member    yawetag   sells his, call our toll free and we would be happy to accommodate you!

I love it! The company is actually interacting. That's awesome.

I wish some governing body would mandate the format of a lineup card. Size, shape, as well as content. It would make our lives alot easier. Especially on those rainy days where the Academy lineups start dissolving after a F1 change or a sub.

Same here. We talk ad nauseum about retail items here from Chest Protectors to books, to virtually anything else you can name. We're pretty on top of umpiring related things.

I love when somebody like Mark in this thread or Jim from Ump-Attire, Aaron from Honigs or Brad from All-Star take the time to see what is important to us - their customers.

I wish other companies would do the same. I would have loved to see someone from unequal chime in on their product.

But I dislike when someone comes and makes one post about their stuff and disappears.
