When a umpire calls for the coach it should be understood that he is calling for the head coach. As a umpire there is no need to speak to a assistant coach, speaking o the umpire is the heads coaches job not the assistant.

Find a camp run by a college assigner. Go there and ask the assigner if you are good enough to work games for him and if not what do you have to work on. You said you wanted to get back to the level you worked before , that was college so why not go back to that type of camp. Best of luck to you

In Fed and NCAA there I the F.PS.R. there is no need for the neighborhood play. MLB it is a safety issue but in the other codes the F.P.S.R. takes care of the safety issue.

I can't believe I'm doing this...I completely agree with Rolo. I use to attend the training run by the state regularly. Then I went to one of Evans' clinics and it was like the whole world changed. The game had slowed down some and I was seeing things better. What kinds of things did the clinic do that the state training lacked? In my experience most State C!inics is just High School big wigs telling war stories. A real clinic (cost money and is usually a couple of days) have Minor League or a MLB guys teaching

in Fed a balk kills the play/pitch in NCAA it is the same a MLB--in NCAA you can have a slid thru the bag at second and also a pop up slide is ok--and the DH can only bat for the pitcher in NCAA--also on DH the pitcher who bats is also the DH. that's the Reader Digest version on the rules difference.

I put down D could not find a reference in rule book. For what it is worth I got 3 wrong on my test, do not know if this is one of them.
