    Rule quiz

As the balk was the first "infraction", and since all runners did not advance, i would enforce the balk.
  4. but we still don't have the answer......
  5. Hello guys ! Here in France, it's not always easy to buy baseball apparel, gloves, shoes etc....A friend of mine asked me if i knew a website called "boombah.com". Every product on this website is a "boombah product". Do some of you have already bought something on this site? I'm afraid that this is a "low-cost products" website. Am I wrong? Thanks...
  6. if you don't balk this at any level, you never balk nothing. I always wonder how a pro pitcher can balk again like this...
  7. In these kind of competitions, umpires come from worldwide.
  8. +1 With 9-10 kids, hard to tell if there is an intention to break up a double play.... Also, as Noumpere said, home plate is not different than 3rd or 2nd base. Even if a bit late, if the slide is "legal", no interference.
  9. I wish for 1B ump's health the throw from second gets in F3's glove... and not a few feet on the left.....
  10. Pretty funny for me, even if i don't know if i'd really like to have them behind me when i officiate....

  13. Had this case yesterday. DC made a first visit to the mound. Later in the inning, DC asks for a time, gets out of the dugout, calling his shortstop (for me, he wanted to invert SS/pitcher). As he approaches the foul line, he reminds he made a first visit, and stops before crossing the line. And finally, he made no changes...OC: "Hey blue, this is a visit to the mound !! ". Me: "no coach, a visit to the mound is on the mound, and DC did not talk to his pitcher". At worst, this is a "defensive visit", but not a mound visit, no ?
  14. What the ....???
  15. Here in France, 3 offensive conferences per 9 innings. 1 per 3 extra-inning.
  16. HBP=dead ball immediatly. the ball will be live again as soon as Home plate Umpire will put it back in play...In you case, no play can be made if HP umpire didn't announce "play" ....
  17. I would rather vote for an error of the firstbaseman...... in the OP, we can't define if it's a throwing error from F5 or a fielding error by F3...
  18. Match parfait....
  19. you must be logged in to watch the video i suppose... For those who can watch it: at 42mn 50sec, the lefthanded batter is out on strike three, while a runner steals second, and announced safe by BU. For you, is there a batter interference? By the way, VT pitcher threw a perfect game. The first in the french elite championship history.
  20. Sorry for the quality, but this is a test. French TV doesn't know baseball exists here so .... and rain doesn't help...
  21. This afternoon, French Elite championship in streaming live. http://livestream.com/accounts/13242543/events/3995971
  22. This is Kieran Mattison. He worked as manager for the Paris University Club in France the last 2 years.
  23. The season starts for me tomorrow morning. Just past my tests to become a National level Umpire in France. For you american guys, her ein France, there are about one thousand umpires. 25 have the "national" level. I'll umpire a 2nd division game. 5 US players will be on the field tomorrow. So excited... !!! No ex-MLB players of course, but a good NCAA (1st division) level for some of them. I should umpire about 50 games until october.
  24. And trust me, that's enough !!!!
