    Umpire Manuals

just received my Pbuc !! The seller asked 13$ to send it to France with a 25 days delay ou 35$ for a 1-week delay. I chosed the 1st option of course and got it in my letter box in 6 days.....
  3. The stupid Tuesday question: must we call something if a batted ball in foul territory is touched by a base coach? ex: a poor grouder in foul territory picked up by the 3rd base coach before the ball stops...???
  4. Sure it isn't....I'll be careful with the words i use...
  5. Edited...^^ It confirms my decision. Thanks.
  6. I'll try to explain my situation with my poor English, hope you'll understand....^^ Situation: 1 out, R2 & R3. The batter hits a grounder on F5, who makes the out at 1B. During the throw to 1B, R3 tries to score, but F3 throws in time at F2. R3 tries to go back to third but realize that R2 is already on the 3rd base bag, F5 calls the ball, touching is bag interpeling myself for an appeal while R3 scores. :smachhead: Whole defensive team went out of the field. I called them back explaining to the coach that no appeal avalable for me. No runner passing leading runner, no runner on same base at the same time... So..?
  7. No ridicule, that is how you learn. You must remember that when there's an offensive interference, no runner may advance, no runner may score.
  8. Why would it be hard to be an umpire in France ? Even if baseball here is a "confidential sport", umpires have a good level. We also have the chance to welcome Jim Evans every 2 year for a 1-week training.

    Umpire Manuals

I've just order the PBUC. Hard to find from France !! Hope i'll learn lot of things (include my english...^^ ) reading this manual.
  10. Yes, but not the same price. In France, i pay about 2 $ per month to Watch ESPN US
  11. Baseball in France is not very developed. We have "only" 10 000 players (compared to the more than 2 million soccer players..). Baseball is not telegenic enough for basic french brains...That's the problem... But for a country with 10 000 players, the level is not as bad and we can see nice baseball games. US players come every year to play with the elite teams to raise the championship level. Baseball fields are correct but compared to US fields...... As an umpire, we have good teachers and with some work, you can become an umpire for European championships for exemple. Some european umpires have been seen at the WBC. Maybe one day in the MLB... wait. baseball is not telegenic but soccer is? For European people, it is, unfortunatly.......ESPN America is the only channel we have in Europe and they will no longer broadcast their programms here from August 1st......
  12. ouch......^^ "J'étudie le français à l'université". Google Translate doesn't work so well.....
