As a manager or player, I would have no problem with that pitch being calling a strike by an objective monitoring system. The reason we don't call that a strike is mostly because we don't want to be yelled at. Computers don't mind being yelled at, so if anything, I think this is a perfect example of why computers should call balls and strikes. Coaches.... sheesh. "We don't want to be yelled at"? That's your argument here? Not the fact that there was no frame of reference for calling it a strike - because F2 almost missed it? If "an objective monitoring system" called that a strike, nobody would believe it's objective. Much like umpires don't believe most coaches are objective.

Looking at those first three calls which were overturned - wow! In my world (Varsity and below) - first play - ball beats runner, runner out. Second play - runner beats ball, runner safe. Third play - bad throw by F2, runner safe. Times have changed, eh?
