Couldn't agree more!  The white looks athletic, the all black looks like you have shoes on from your suit

PIAA requires all black shoes.  That is why I save my Spot-Bilts for high school season and break out the NBs for summer ball.

The line up:

Left: Adidas mask, Tan Team Wendy pads, Diamond sun visor, Adidas harness

Right: Wilson dyna-lite powder coated matte black, Black Team Wendy pads with WV logo, SSK throat guard, WV harness, and rake cut off.

And yes the Wilson was on here before.

How much does the adidas weigh with the TW pads?

So what is that Adidas made of?  Are the bars hollow?  Or are they solid?

Ah I see. Sounds like a limited run then. Thanks guys!

I don't think that's the case, @blue32. I genuinely think that the shop in Taiwan (I have this hunch it's Taiwan... I might be wrong) that produces that planform is expanding production. They are taking commissions from Adidas (and its subsidiary, Reebok) whereas a few years ago, it was Nike exclusively. Perhaps the contract with Nike expired. The slight differences with "true" Nike Titanium masks of 3-4 years ago and this latest crop of Adidas-labeled ones can be easily explained as alternative materials sourcing. The shop likely has diversified its source of titanium bar stock in relation to market trends. Instead of using 2 gauges of titanium wire, they can save cost by using 3 or 4 different gauges, especially if one gauge isn't critically necessary.

Branding is as crucial today as it ever has been. I've now seen Nike (the original), Mizuno, Reebok and now Adidas all on pads and harnesses attached to that same mask planform. UnderArmour routinely uses All-Star mask planforms to put their branding on. Jeff Bandy, catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, is sponsored by Adidas, but since Adidas doesn't make its own premium mask (and/or Jeff doesn't dig the "Nike" planform), he uses an All-Star FM25Ti-II frame with Adidas pads.

@MadMax do you know who they are/were marketing them through? I like to think I am pretty well "up" with most of the stuff out there, but this one never hit my radar.

I think the difference with UA and All Star is that they are pretty open with that partnership, whereas this Adidas product seemed like it was a little more clandestine, for lack of a better term.

BTW, bravo to you for all of your knowledge on these things! Your insight is always much appreciated!

Diamond DFM-UMP-BL matte black frame (thanks @codizzle!), +POS mesh pads (sooooo much better than Diamond's stock pads), +POS harness, and a 4" TG. This is a new rig for my colleague who popped 4 welds on his previous DFM-iX3.

The matte black looks great. Is the very top vertical u shaped bar bent or is just the angle of the photo?

That's the bullring (the other, inverted U is the wicket), and it's not bent, but it isn't truly symmetrical. It is offset, rotated to, like 12:05 or 12:10. Hey, these are churned out by a factory in China, waddiya expect? ;)

Ha! Bullring! Haven't heard that term for something having to do with protective gear since Larry Csonka was playing! I hear ya about the mass production thing. I just picked up a Wilson aluminum that has offset bars in the built in throat protector. It's ever so slight, but I know it's there and it drives me nuts!

I thought I posted this but it may not have 'taken' ..... however .....here's the final iteration and my goal from the start:  I wanted a navy trim mask (MHSAA is still navy required) so here it is:

Original West Vest Mask (pre Dyna Lite I think) ...I had Tony at Maskit take the vertical bars off of the throat extension so it looks similar to a Riddell Power mask ....and had him powder coat it in "primer gray" with a clearcoat over top.   Pads are my favorite, All-Star LUC, in navy, Honigs sunshield, WV harness, and WV patch from old WV pads velcro attached over the All Star logo.
