Protected or Not...that is the question

The whole standing on the base part and only the infield fly is said vs line drive....

I would have D, the base is not a refuge except for an infield fly, and while it did indeed pass an infielder, another infielder still was in position to make the play.

The more you think about it you can’t get hit by the ball except in an infield fly situation if you are on the bag. Casebook 8-4-2k

By rule, D all the way.

The base is not a refuge because of a play like this.  The runner could choose to stay there to intentionally interfere knowing F6 (or F4) is making a play on the ball.  

Admittedly, this is tricky since the fielder making the play could reasonably have a double play if the runner does the right thing by moving to get out of the way for the initial play happen.  (IMO it really is disadvantaging the runner by not including protection on any line drive/fly ball on the bag.)
