He should be wearing a white t-shirt under the black umpire shirt. At least in SC DYB.

What's wrong with this picture? Also in this guys association numbers are NOT used.

1. Watch on wrist

2. Bracelet on wrist

3. Only one ball bag

4. Belt doesn't look like a typical umpire belt

5. Not a uniform thing, but where's his mask?

Or are you talking about the coach?

Contrasting under shirts has to go away.

I personally think they draw too much attention.

Our umpire here. His mask is hanging by his throat guard which is tucked into the back of his pants. hopmad.gif

Astrosdawg,

GTFOOH!!!!

Of course, he's a lefty, so that could explain it.

I can only hope you'll have the professionalism and common courtesy to tell him about the umpire hook so he doesn't look like such a jackwad tool the next time he goes out there and embarrasses ALL of us.

(No, I am not making this up.)

The one or two ball bag thing is a personal preference. I've seen MLB umpires only use one. The black undershirt doesn't matter either. It's crew or personal preference unless dictated by the association.

The wristband, watch, and mask thing are Smitty though.

Is he wearing heather gray pants still? I know we've had to go to charcoal here in cali for hs.

In Missouri, our pants have to be "gray." As long as we match with our partner, heather or charcoal are good. That said, 99% of us use charcoal.

I have never seen a ball bag just on the left side even for lefties

If a lefty is only going to wear one bag then certainly it goes on the left.

Not necessarily uniform police, but more of wearing the equipment properly:

He better have a heck of a throat guard because it looks like his chest protector

is sitting too low. Even with a throat guard, I think that it is dangerously low.

High School game? Where is his TASO hat?

He's waiting for his UIL hat to come in.

Very few in my area actually wear charcoal. Which is a real shame, I feel like my charcoal poly-wools are the best looking pants around!

Our association says that as long as you match they don't care but they always yell the new guys to buy heather

I'm just wondering why we're trashing a fellow amateur umpire. I understand that this umpire doesn't present himself the way most of us do, but to post a photo online is going a little far. I know we all poked fun at the Umpire Hook guy, but he posted his own video online.

Is this umpire a partner of yours Astrosdawg07? Does he work in your association? If so, eventhough he is a little Smitty, we are a brotherhood. If I saw my picture on a forum website I'd feel betrayed by my "brothers in blue". Just my two cents.

Maybe seeing himself online with comments on his attire and looks will cause him to change his ways. Would I have posted it? Not if I were a part of his association.

I know I"m late.. but 1 ball bag is ok... matter fact, there is a some guys that were told if your a shorter person to only wear 1 ball bag...

but nothing about sunglasses on during a plate meeting? a huge no no..

to be honest, I dont see anything I couldnt remedy with a few private words in pregame......drop the watch and the bracelet....one ball bag...not a problem....., dont stuff mask in the back of your pants.....etc...

I often do games in multiple associations, so the number issue doesnt bother me at all...

Id like to focus on what I see that is good....

Uniform is in good order....

Uniform is clean...

Uniform is pressed...

Umpire is fit ....

Umpire is engaged...

I've had some real hobo's show up that make this guy look like a honigs catalogue model........
