NLCS Game 4 bottom two. Adrian Gonzalez dives headfirst into home. Angel Hernandez bangs him out. Call is upheld upon review. For those of you watching before a video is available, thoughts?

Personally, I would have been happy to rule his a$$ out, once he got up wagging his finger.  But that's more an emotional response to what I saw on the screen.  (And I'm not gonna lie - the upholding of the call made me very happy.)

And this is what happens when replay is introduced.  Can't wait for the first player/coach to say something at one of my games.  Because once players start showing that sort of disrespect at the MLB level, it WILL filter down.

The issue. ..... and I can see this ..... is that in the photo his hand is above the dish....in the next frame it's hard to tell when the mitt touches AG's person (jersey, face, etc) and you still can't tell if his hand is touching yet....  I've GOT TO GO WITH THIS as being why it was ruled inconclusive

as Gil posted, it was a "call stands" not a "call confirmed"

 

It was a terrible send by the 3BC, he was out by several steps and if (yes I know the play needs to be made) if a bit better throw or proper tag to the plate and not the runner, it would have been a comical out.

more importantly ...we can't tell or don't know that the glove didn't touch any of AG's arm/sleeve either..........

As much of a LA fan that I am... and trust me I am a big Dodger fan...

In real time, I had an out. At replay it looks close but then again... FAN. Really sending the slowest guy on the team on a short hit to right? Maybe not the best decision they could have made.

Oh... and the 10 runs... maybe not let that happen tonight.

A tie does go to the runner semantically in the OBR rules except for an appeal play.

But, as we all know, there are no ties. Though in this case, a perceived tie goes to the call on the field.
