My long worn pair of sunglasses and I have parted ways, so I am shopping for sunglasses.

I am not fully prepared to pull the trigger on a pair of Oakley's as I'm afraid that I could easily lose them. Even though this last pair sunglasses and I remained together for several seasons.

I am considering EvoShield EvoScopes Sunglasses, which are available for $78 bucks on Amazon.

Does anybody own a pair of these?

What sunglasses are you guys using and what do you like about them?

Any thoughts about the EvoShield EvoScopes Sunglasses having the orange tint lenses? I got a trial pair of the orange tinted contacts several years ago that Nike had out and even though they looked funky I admit in twilight situations visibility was noticeably improved.

I work a lot of high school summer baseball in the summer months with 5 or 5:30 PM starts, so these games start with full sunlight and end a lot of times with working the bases with an eye full of sun coming right over the top of the backstop most commonly in the "A" position. Eventually the light fading by the end of the game. I think these orange lenses might be nice to work under those conditions but are a little untraditional for umpires. 

 I've never been afraid to do something a little different but I'm always open to feedback.

About 18.5 " which is why I have no problems with the defender mask.

I wouldn't about polarized or not .....I changed from 2 different lenses in my Split Jackets to Transitions (non polarized) this last season and didn't notice a difference

Thanks to Hanukkah Harry bringing me some Oakley Halfjackets a few years back. I have used nothing but those.

However, prior to that, I used Native Sport sunglasses. They had interchangeable lenses. Would usually wear the polarized lenses on the bases during the day. And the yellow lenses at night, when it was cloudy, or if I needed protection from dust on the plate.

I'm not familiar with the Evosheild glasses. But from my experience, the lighter shade lenses do not help with direct sunlight in your face.

Your mileage may, of course, vary.

The Oakley Prisms are the BOMB!

The Prizm lenses are pretty cool. They even have an orange/red color designed specifically for baseball. Prizm lenses are now available in Rx. in certain frames.  I think I'm going to try a pair for the upcoming season. One drawback as far as I'm concerned, the prizm lenses are not polarized. They're all about contrast and sharp optics.

I actually totally forgot about the skit until they talked about it today on the radio. I just like to reference him since, as a jew, I'm allergic to Santa. LOL

Polarization blocks glare. I like it as an every day/all occasion sunlens. Especially driving or on the water.  AS far as on the diamond goes...not a huge deal. We're not typically dealing with glare. One exception. A nice bright sunny late afternoon on a new artificial turf field. I worked the bases on a few of these this summer...I was amazed how shiny they are. Most glare I've ever seen on a ballfield.

I wear  size 7  3/4 and 7  7/8 hat.  How large are the evo shields?

I know. Had to grease it so I could fit down the hatch when I was on submarines.  Extra freakin melon size.

You must have a very strong neck to be holding that thing up!
