Real time this is a safe ALL DAY LONG on any field ...but replay shows (inconclusive) but WOW, so close!!!!!

p.s. Nauert looks like a 70's pimp without an undershirt and a gold cross on his neck

You know, IR has demonstrated a metric that the umpires get the call right more often than not (and inconclusive has to be regarded as "right"). I'd be interested to see a number of how many times Mattingly and the Dodgers have challenged, and been successful, because it seems like a steep ratio.

I smell a Rattingly.

Well, according to Hack Harrelson, reviewed calls get overturned 48% of the time.  Or, in his words, most of the time.  SMH...

Dodgers are the worst team in the league in the Manager's Challenge category, around .220 (Kevin Cash's Rays are second-worst). Could be Mattingly's doing, video coordinator John Pratt's doing, or most likely a combination of the two.

It's too bad the clip is from the Red's broadcast. I was watching this game last night, the Dodgers broadcast, and Vin Scully took the review time to talk about just how good the MLB umpires are, as they only get one shot, and full speed to make the call, and get them right more often than not. It was a refreshing to listen to someone who understands just how good these guys are. Of course, I expect nothing less from a guy with the grace and dignity of Vin.

I might do a review of most umpire-friendly and unfriendly broadcasters in baseball at some point. Vin Scully is probably at the top of the list.

Really not a great stat to hang on Mattingly His asst coach gets on the phone and determines is the call is close. He ever hits the phone. Time for a new replay guy but the .220 percentage is a garbage stat. 100% agree about Vin Scully. I could listen to this guy read the phone book. How many announcers can handle the game solo? When he hangs it up I along with millions of others are not going know how to watch or listen to a Dodger game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
