Oh how difficult it is to control one's emotions in the heat of battle. It takes an intentional awareness, and yes... even training, that most ball players have never had. 'The hook' is their training I suppose. Enough of those, coupled with some healthy fines, and they'll be as intentionally aware as most...well...then again, maybe not.

It actually looks as though Gennett is pi$$ed at U3 ...maybe a check swing call he didnt' like?  Not sure

I see that. Here's what I will likely NEVER understand. Having played, coached, and now officiating, it is beyond me why any batter would allow his fate to be determined by the eyes and decisions of an umpire. Just about NO ONE can dispute that 99.9% of called 3rd strikes are at least very close pitches. A batter knows he has 2 strikes, and yet trusts that the umpire is going to agree with him on every pitch!???? I've never understood it, even as a player, I took that on myself, and I've taught my son the same thing, even before I was an umpire. I truly believe MLB managers should be fining these guys for looking at a 3rd strike, and if they get tossed for arguing one, suspended, because now they've put the manager in a worse spot for the whole game.

As Stone Cold Steve Austin used to say "Never Trust Anybody". (Especially an umpire when you're a batter with two strikes on you.)
