If you had a chance to work for a day with 1 mlb umpire(can be a AAA callup) who would you work with and why?

 

I'll start, I'd work with either Ed Hickox because well he's just cool, Tom Hallion for the entertainment value of his strike 3 call, or Bob Davidson because he is the only guy I can be 100% certain would make me look like a great umpire by comparison

My strike-call is trademark, and has been likened to the goal horn at a hockey game. It rolls out as "STREEOOOOOOOOOOOOOKE".

 

That gets you branded as a smitty around here.  Especially at HS and above.

 

 

I'd likely want to work alongside Jim Joyce and Bruce Froemming*, if only to reinforce that having a unique, loud strike call is a small, trivial matter of style. We can't, and shouldn't, all be soulless robots.

 

* - Besides, Bruce Froemming is a fellow Milwaukeean; gotta carry the legacy.
