The All American is a Flying Cross by Fechheimer. At least it was when I bought mine. A phone call could easily confirm who is making it.

Out of morbid curiosity, are plate coats made to leave the bottom button unbuttoned like men's suits?

And there's no need for a plate coat out here sadly. I only wear a jacket a handful of times per year.

Yes do not button the bottom button unless you are going to tuck in your plate coat!

And leads to a tip for you plate coat wearers. Always put a few more stitches in that top button. I had one fly off, and that makes for a bad evening.

Wait...... I'm not supposed to tuck it in?

No, no...read carefully, you can tuck it in, but with the buttons buttoned.

I'm glad somebody is paying attention!

I'm sure the all-American is nice, but the Honig's is the way to go. It is the same coat that the MLB issues and is built like a tank. I have 3 of them and I wear them every chance I get!

I agree....the Honig's coat is AWESOME.....it just fits so well and really is durable like no other....I made my decision between the two based on others that recommended it and the fact that it is the MLB coat and just looks so good on them so I figure I could look good with it too...boy was I right.
