Currently, I am sitting in the airport in Dubai, UAE. You guys wouldnt believe the stuff for sale in the duty free shops here. Its like the Mall of the Americas, but with airplanes coming n going. I can't say I wasn't a bit unnerved at the sound of the prayer song (whatever they call it) over the pa here at the airport. Post 9/11 has us (me) programmed that the middle east is just a buncha terrorists. While its true, most ME-erners aren't terrorists, most terrorists are ME-erners, ive met some interesting ppl and had a generally good time. Next flight leaves in 2 hours. Ima be down with the koalas n roos n wombats n stuff. Hahahaha! Eat your heart out @JaxRolo :P

btw....Emirates airlines is second to none when it comes to comfort and amenities. Too bad EMIRATES airlines serves....well...primarily Emirates!! Who knew?!?

I got home today. Had a fantastic trip. Covered 2200kms in Western Australia. From the wine region at Margaret River to Jurrien Bay. I saw all the stereotypical Aussie animals. Drove on the wrong side

I got my tickets to the opening game last night! I'm going to bring the camera and focus on the umpires. Regardless of any 'not correct for us' stuff MLB guys do, it'll still be a good example to reference.

There are a number of things they do we can't, but the important thing is to know and recognize those things. But most of what they do is fine. Feel free to share those pictures.

GDay Umps! How ya goin?

 

Sorry I haven't been more forthcoming in the past few days, but I don't have wifi much, and I'm kinda busy on vacation, not worrying about you chumps. :kissass:

 

no, I'm not going to Sydney for the Dodgers/DBacks. I will be home by then. I am in Western Australia. Doing the whole tourist thing.

 

Sadly, even though the Perth Heat won the ABL Championships last month, I have been unable to find a SINGLE piece of memorabilia. Caps, shirts, pennants, nothing. Not even in Perth proper, which is where I'm based out of for this adventure.

 

Hope you guys are calling strikes and trying not to suck. I'll be home soon enough and will be sucky enough for all of us :smachhead:  :cool2:
