(I did search, and I didn't find a thread that matched up to what I'm doing here.)

I need a new gear bag, because my current method of getting gear back and forth, a bright orange catcher's backpack, is part of the reason my helmet got all messed up. I've been looking on UA, and most of their stuff is way outta my budget, except for the Diamond duffel, and I don't think that's big enough for my gear. (It might be, I'm just not sure.) What do you guys use, and what would you suggest for under about eighty dollars?

Yep, that's the one I mentioned.

If you have a local Macy's you can see if they have it in stock in the store. A little bit of deeper thinking goes a long way in life.

Macy's is sort of a lower 48 thing. A little bit of deeper thinking goes a long way in life.

So kid let me tell you, for $80 to Alaska you can get a brown paper bag.  Maybe if you order it from Russia will be cheaper and you will have a little bit of change left.

Brown paper bags are only about thirty dollars, where are you getting those statistics?

Definitely closer. Palin can see it from her house.

Not like I'm defending her, but Palin never actually said that...

I think he was being a bit sarcastic.

recommend hitting a used luggage store or a goodwill type place. You might be able to find a bag to your liking and in your price range.

go to a local hockey store and find a cheapy, it will work fine for you.  Also a camping out door store will have a 36/42/48" duffel that for the time being would work as well.  Past that look online at ebags, ebay the like and you'll find something that will work for you I'm sure.

Speaking from experience it's best to just take the hit now and get the best gear you can, including your gear bag. Especially if you are going to have to pay taxes on your umpiring income. Every piece of gear you buy is a tax write off and with that in mind there isn't any real reason not to have quality equipment. Better to spend the money now and get the most out of it rather than trying to find a cheaper alternative that won't last.

I'm not sure they can tax fifteen dollars very well...

I'm trying to find something higher quality, but my parents certainly aren't seeing the way you are, and I'm gonna be stuck with whatever I get for a while, even if it busts.

Just use a hockey goalie bag. That's what I did until recently. I got it for $30 at the local sporting goods shop.

And can you please stop posting new threads every 15 minutes? Not to be rude, but it seems like there is a new one every day, and every day it gets sidetracked to random BS and mindless bickering. Do a full search instead, and maybe message some members you trust.

The same arguments and subsequent locked threads are getting annoying.

Boy, wonder what it's like to trust somebody on this site?

Maybe if everybody didn't treat me like crap, I could.

You know why, because you want the people to write what you want to read and satisfy your frame of mind and your particular situation.  Here we are different people with different opinions.  And remember opinions are like :kissass: , everybody have one.

That honestly made no sense to me...

Sounds like you might have to settle for a little less than you want. Especially due to to your assumed budget. Either find something on the cheap at a thrift store or a place like Play It Again, or stick with what you got.
