If Evans does win and is again a source of students for PBUC evaluation, I would hope those students would get an equal chance to be placed into MiLB jobs as those from Wendelstedt and TUS.

He won't. In the limited amount I've seen on this case, I think his legal team is trying to reverse the premises behind the scrutiny of exclusive dealings. They are scrutinized because of the relative economic power a vendor generally has over a consumer. However, in this case, he is the vendor, so the proscriptions of the Clayton Act don't apply (at least, historically.) I could be wrong and they are examining another anti-trust issue, but I think the signs are pointing to this argument, that if the consumer has the relative economic power, then scrutiny of exclusive dealings attaches to them.

In the end, a consumer (PBUC/MiLB) still can choose its vendors, but a vendor cannot dictate that a consumer choose its product.

Came across an interesting article on an Umpiring FB page: Hey, ump! Why'd you eject that player or manager?
It's an interesting piece with former MLB ump Jim Evans. The entire thing is pretty great but one part in particular caught my eye:
“We’re trained at the beginning to use our diaphragm and not just our larynx or voice box,” he said, noting that, in addition to verbal calls, umpires can use more than 60 physical signals.
Does anyone want to assist in listing every possible physical signal? (I'm guessing that "pointing" will cover several of these)
I'll update the post with any answers and kick it off with the basics:
      1) Safe
      2) Out
      3) Foul Tip
      4) Foul Ball
      5) Fair Ball
      6) Home Run
      7) ...
      8) ...

Anyone who is looking to get a job in minor league baseball should look into attending O.U.T.S. Run by Bob Bainter. The chief instructor is Brent Rice who is also the lead instructor at Wendelstedt. We have had the top returning student 6 years running. We place 27 umpires in the Northwoods league during the summer. That is the premier wood bat College league. Our camp is 10 days in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Registration is now open. You do not need to have attended a school. However, we prefer that you want to. Certainly,  will not preclude you from getting a placement. We will have many special guests. Reps from the App league, Northwoods, Atlantic league, Frontier league. More to come. Please visit our website.
