yeah, it's a gap, but again, we are deciding to make a certain non-fatal sacrifice for comfort.

I know I could wear a bomb suit back there and if I ever got hit, I wouldn't know it. Great gap protection.

But the trade there, is extreme weight/heat.

The trade here is for something lower profile, and whatever else a guy needs it to do.

I'm willing to trade a glancing blow to my armpit area, if you're not, then don't get the retrofit.

I shipped the older of my two Platinums to TW yesterday. I can't wait to get it back. Should have it in plenty of time for the season

I would think that TW has done enough of these retro fits by this time they could snipe you the padding and let you do it yourself. The should have the pattern.

What is the turn around time?

I got my power Team Wendyfide and they made the pad exactly the same size as my old pad. I have a Milb friend who had it done and he had to return it because they made it too big and the pad had in his words " man boobs" on the sides. So maybe because of the return TW is making them true to size now .....

Right now, according to Sheilah, the rep I dealt with, turn time is about 4 weeks, but part of that is because of the holidays.

It looked to me in some of the pics Ive seen of retrofitted Golds & Powers that the TW padding appeared larger than the stock padding it was replacing. Could make things awkward and the fit not as good.

I received my platinum back on Friday. The Wendy padding is a little heavier than the original but it's much lower profile. Also, it seems to provide a close and snug fit which makes it more comfortable in my opinion. I will post pics as soon as I can.

Ive noticed the Power has the side pads on them (see the photo attached) - did TW omit those on their own or was that by your request?

They traced my existing pad and the old pad did not have the extensions . My old pad was not an original pad from Riddell. It was made by

Really - how do you keep the Power (plastic parts) so good looking? And Fittske your retro fit gold the plates look new;...the plates on my 9 year old WV Gold (retro TW), look, well, 9 years old. Any secrets?
