7 Innings, started @ 7 P.M. Bad BB. 14U Travel. Would have been my longest if the lights didn't go out and have to wait to be restarted. Back at car @ 10:20 P.M. Ugh!

3:20? You haven't lived until a game goes over 5 hours. My longest one this year was a 12 inning college game that went 3:50.

I did a 16 inning District game in NJ back in 1998. It was 94 degrees at 6:00 PM, and humidity was 92%. I was a wet rag at 1st inning, and overly well done at inning 16. I drank gallonSS of water and never pee'd until I got home later. I am pretty sure that lasted 4 hours 20 minutes. My grey pants were soaked through, my gear was soaked through. I could ring out my chest protector. U G L Y!

I walked over to my truck and sat there with air conditioning blowing on me for 20 minutes before attempting to drive home. My bones ached the next day! Game was 6-6 until a Grand Slam ended it bottom of 16. One team just plum ran out of people who could pitch. I felt bad for that 12th player who had to pitch that inning. He didn't throw a strike until the bomb that was hit.

Agreed...until you have a game that goes over 4 or 5 hours, you don't know what a "long game" is. My longest this season so far was a 14-inning D-III game that went 4:05...ended on a walk-off 3-run HR.

I did a double header once that had to be played that night because it had tournament implications and a possible third game the next day between two other teams. We started at 7:00, it was a very tight game and ended up going 11 innings. It ended contentiously with the home team winning. We finished at 10:55 on a supposed seven inning game. We started the second game at 11.15, another seven. In the first two batters I had three arguments and an ejected coach. It went 9 innings and we finished at 2:15 AM. It was two games but a total of 6:15.

My longest was 15 innings - 4:30. It was the first game of a doubleheader too. Luckily it wasn't too hot (mid-80s) but it was cloudy and probably 90%-95% humidity with light sprinkles most of the game. My waterproof ball bags soaked through in the 11th or 12th and I had to have them throw balls in from the dugout... Of course the second game was 13-0 in 4 1/2 innings...

Hanging my head in shame. What if I say 3:18 felt like 6 hours.

Been there before!

I've had 3 hour games that feel like 6, and 4 hour games that feel like 2. It's not the length of the game that's a factor for me...more so the quality of the game that effects how it feels.

I did a 12U championship game that went 9 innings (3:30) and then I had the game immediately after that. The second one only went 2:30 but it was 95+ degrees that day.

Provincial finals (13 year olds) 4 games 1st  was 3:36 following was 3:17 next was 3:52 (including a 10 minute delay for the sun on the horizon blinding the batter, catcher and myself a coach from each team being ejected and a whole lot of figuring on a very messed up situation because the defense thought they got 2 outs when they only got one) and the final game was thankfully just a shade under 2 hours.  Hopefully the longest day ever.

A buddy of mine worked a 5:29, 17-inning JuCo game on Sunday......

I had my longest ever game just yesterday, Under 15 Semi Final, 7 innings took 4:10, had both coaches  :censored:  at each other after about the 2nd inning, then the game got put under protest in the 5th (pitcher pitched to a new batter over his pitch count). And the 6 different pitchers for each team. Oh, not to mention the combined 49 runs! (28-21). And to top it all off it was a lovely 95 degrees here in Australia!

I had a game last year 4hours 20 Minutes, High School Varsity. Game started at 6pm and we walked off the field at 10:20pm. It was actually a very good game and it went 11 Innings. I think the final score was 11-10. And it was 3-3 after 7. The final 4 innings took as long as the first 7. I actually talked to the coaches before the start of the 11th inning making sure they knew we could not start another inning after 11pm. That is a CIF rule in Southern California.

My longest game was about 2 years ago it was scheduled for 9 innings ind it was a hot as heck day mid 90's with nearly 100% humidity.

We're chugging along. Visiting team is loosing 7-0 in the 5th and I'm already thinking about the 10RR. Home coach starts chirping about the zone. I tell him to knock it off. He continues we get into it I eject him. Completely legit EJ, but in hind sight I wish I hadn't. I did exactly what he wanted. Fired up his team.

By the 7th inning they had tied it up Visitors would score a run or two, the home team would score a run or two. We get to the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th any time the visitors scored so did the home. In the 14th inning my partner has a banger at second that goes the visitors way and from the bench the assistant coach yells, "At least you got one right today!"

My partner yells back, "Oh yeah, here's the second one!" and tosses the assistant coach. That runner he called safe ended up scoring and the home team couldn't answer the score. So the game thankfully came to an end after over 5 hours.

The next crew to come in had to wait and wait and wait for us. They were pissed that they didn't get to start their game on time, but the scoreboard told the story.
