Honig's Long Sleeve

I am wanting to get a long sleeve, and Honig's has them for just under $20 right now. How are the long sleeve shirts from Honig's and how is the fit? My other shirts from ump-attire I have a large in, should I get a large in the Honig's long sleeve as well?

I just purchased two of these long sleeve shirts from Honigs. I orderd on a Monday, and they were delivered on a wed. This was with Numbers sewed on. They are Nice shirts. I would go with what ever size you tipically wear.

The reason I ask about size is because I have a short sleeve cream from Honig's (Large) and it fits fine on the bases but is very difficult to get on with the Platinum. Should I go with an XL for the long sleeve or is it cut a little larger since it is generally for the plate?

I guess I must be lucky by being a real "off the rack" guy, because all of my shirts (regardless of the maker/vendor, and regardless of base or plate) are size "L".

The Honig's long sleeve shirt that I have (black) is likewise a Large, and it fits just right over my Platinum CP. If you normally wear a Large on the bases, and if you'd like a little extra room, then by all means, size up to XL.

i have the LS honigs as well and like the quality . as far as size (honigs) i usually wear xxl for the plate and xl for bases, im 6'4" 250 . the xxl fits nicely over the cp , not too tight . the material seems to be just a little thicker . also in the last couple years honigs has changed vendors , with dramatic differences (quality) and many opinions from around the country about the shirts . imo LS is good quality , i also have a honigs from the before the vendor change , and there are differences in the materials , and also the shirt tags design . one thing i have noticed is that depending on the color , sizes dont run the same .

I just got the two I ordered today.

I ordered Medium.

I also got my new WV Gold today.

Put one on over it.

Was a tight fit but will work.

I don't think I will use them on the plate though.

Primary for bases.

Never need anything on plate here.

Gear keeps you plenty warm.

I use the long sleeves on the bases all the time. It looks and feels good.

Now the guys on TV, where many umpires take their cues, don't wear them. They'd rather wear the short sleeved, silly looking smocks. But to each their own. I like long sleeves on the bases, or plate.

I wear l/s on the bases. Around here in early spring or late fall sometimes you need just a bit more but not a jacket.

I rarely wear a jacket on the bases when it's cold...most always a LS w/cold gear under...knocks off the chill and keeps me sharp. I don't like a jacket unless it is really COLD...they make me sweat then you get chilled when the wind kicks up...

No LS on the bases is a MiLB and MLB uniform code. Unless your association has a rule there are no issues with it. My HS association dosent even allow them :-(

I never wear a jacket behind the plate and I never wear a long-sleeve on the bases. I would wear a long-sleeve on the bases, but they don't do it around here. It's a rare game or locale that really requires it, and when that's the case, we wear jackets.

I did a college intrasquad yesterday, and I usually wear a long-sleeve with forearm pads hidden under the sleeves. Instead, I wore a short-sleeve, and of course you know what happened: I got drilled on the wrist. (Thanks for framing that last one, kid.)

the honigs LS that i have seems to be of a thicker material . and here in my area , it is only used for PU . on the bases if needed a jacket is worn .

They're both comfortable, durable and easy to care for (now that Honig's has gone away from that all-cotton collar). But that embroidered Honig's logo on the back is worth a lot to some.
