You guys have probably seen this before but I'll post just in case. Many of us are dealing with kids on a daily basis. Hopefully some of them will turn out like these did. Truly a class act.

Steve's point was there was no need for the touching moment, just put a sub in. It was a great show of class by the other team but the umpires flat screwed up.

If a runner is injured while completing his or her awarded bases, their replacement can complete the awards for him or her. In this case, the umpire wouldn't allow a substitute to do so, so the defensive team picked her up and walked her around the bases.

Since it was an over the fence HR, a sub should of been allowed run the bases for the injured player.

Everyone understands the sportsmanship part of it. Even better is I think these were rival schools.

From what I remember reading about this when it happened several years ago yes another runner could of helped her but the umpires ruled incorrectly that they couldnt.

OR, they could have allowed a substitution, since it was a dead ball award.

If I am calling this game, I think, "WOW, gosh. (wipes tear away). I have never seen anything like this before. I wonder if I should double check that rule before ESPN calls me up and asks me for the movie rights."
