Just curious if anybody knows what might be up with the folks at Wendelstedt. I have been trying to get some info on their clinic schedule, materials, etc., and there has been no response to either e-mail or phone messages for three months.

In addition their website seems to be static and has not been updated i quite a while.

Anybody got any insight here?

Thanks....

Same problem here. I was interested in attending a camp/clinic this winter somewhere in the Northeast. Jim Evans moved thiers from NJ to SC. (go early/stay late and play some golf?) That would be a great break from the winter season but, I was looking to drive to save some $$$. Wendelstedts' site shows one but the link is broken/not active.

I can see how that would be tough, but, three months seems like a bit much....bummer because I need to make some plans as soon as possible.

Problem #1 you wanna go to a Wedelstedt clinic.. I bet if you call Jim Evans clinic in phone # .. you know who you will talk too.. 1 of 2 people Jim Himself, or Jason. Go to Evans it will be worth it, trust me..

I was at The liberty classic last year, and there were some problems with the hotel, not saying that is why they moved it, but... it could be..

If you get enough members of your association together, Jim will come to you. He loves going to new places and put on clinics. My association in Boise had him out last year, and it was great. He'll talk to you about how much he needs to cover expenses and what-not. Give him a call, I'm sure he will work something out with you. He will either come alone if the numbers aren't there, or bring a couple of his MiLB guys if you get enough guys to sign up.

They may have been told to knock it off. Rob Drake tried having a web sote 2-3 years back and got told to knock it off.

I have had the same problem.

They were suppose to have a clinic here in San Bernardino last Nov and then March.

Never could reach anyone on the phone, never got a call back after leaving a message, never got a answer to a email.

Not the type of customer service I am looking for so I stopped trying.

Yeah, I was interested in the clinic they were supposed to have in Cocoa Beach in March 2010. It still says, "Dates Coming Soon!!!" Not soon enough apparently...

FWIW, the last time I placed a call to Jim Evans' Academy of Professional Umpiring, http://www.umpireacademy.com Mr. Evans himself answered the telephone.

Now, that likely won't happen every time someone calls, (especially if it's during his 5-week course or during one of his clinics), but I found that especially impressive. :fuel:

Disclaimer: I am not employed by nor a contractor to the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring, nor do I receive any renumeration for this testimony.

I got an e-mail in late Feb. from Hunter re: the facility problem that was hindering the San Bernardino clinic. But, since then, nothing, and I have tried several times. Seems like the clinics are really not much of a priority to them.

Bummer, a So Cal venue would have been perfect.

Evans clearly is more organized and committed to the clinic program, but, it is hard for me to make the dates he is offering work.

oh well... I will figure something out....

At least I know that it is not just me....lol

Don't know why they would have a problem getting a facility here in San Bernardino.

Dodger and Angels both have Single A facilities here.

There is a former Single A facility now operated by the city here and a uncountable number of what I would consider acceptable facilities for a clinic here, including LL Western Regional Facility.

As said it isn't that much of a priority to them.

I missed a great weekend clinic last November, it was even free, but won't miss it this year.

I was working with a kid last night who went there last year. I told him they were slow getting back to people. He said samething happened last year to him and all the sudden out of the blue they started emailing and returning calls. He said that during the season you never hear from them. He said don't worry, they will call.

Good deal....Still a bit of a mystery though.. maybe there is something wrong with the school's site...

Clearly though this is a bit of a problem and I am not the only one having difficulty.... Oh well...

well they recently (meaning before the last 5 week class last January) put up a basically revamped website, I mean they did a lot of updates and cosmetic changes, haven't been to the website since February so not sure but they are usually good about responding to E-mails and phone calls in a timely manner, on the road like said above though I'm sure Hunter is quite busy
