...........you guessed it ....the coaches, while cheering / talking to their team on the field or while on offense were using ..."come on blue" ......"let's go blue" ...

Huh?? What?? (I'm thinking) ....I didn't do anything wrong, ...I didn't even make a call! :)

While going back to my position, the HC was the First Base Coach, and I told him it was throwing me off (in jest of course) , and he cracked up! I said, ..."I was getting a complex there coach" ....good stuff

One team in the Adult League I work has a player named Blu.

It took me a couple of games to get use to it when I work them....lol.

I have an unusual first name. Unusual enough that I've only met one other person with my name. Last year, I was doing a TOC game and I kept hearing everyone calling my name, telling me to move back, left, right, etc...:P I kept looking around, but no one was looking at me... Finally, I took out my line up card - sure enough, RF has my name...:)

damn straight. Baseball Canada has barred navy yet Baseball Ontario hasn't and they don't respond to emails with such a suggestion either.

Did a Solo game the other night. Wore my red shirt I never get to wear. Nobody seem to like them. Received complements from several fans before and after the game.

During one of the half innings the catcher wasn't ready so the pither came up to me and said "Hey Red how you doing today?" It was kinda funny. Had to be there.

I think the only time I've seen red umpire shirts around here is on the softball field (a rare non-Powder Blue day)

I want more guys in our association to wear black or creme. They both look sharp.

Happens to me all the time with the teams named Braves, Dodgers, etc all over the place here.

I'll also hear something that sounds like ump, but they're referring to the batter.

It doesn't bother me anymore, I got used to it.

No, they call their players blue and call me blue. Names are foreign to them and they don't even know their player's numbers.

A few people call me Drew. It can get confusing on the field, too.

I have had youth football coaches call me "blue" when I'm working those games in black/white stripes.
