You be the judge. Do you think he was looking to EJ the batter?

I don't know what you saw, but I think it just caught the outside corner. 1

........on the second......or 3rd bounce?? :)

I like the way a production company for commercials depicts an umpire. You would think they'd al LEAST have him set up properly to begin with?!?:shakehead:

Very little of what's portrayed on TV is what it's actually like. Sadly, what you're seeing is a typical person's impression of an umpire.

I wonder if the producer is a Braves fan or wanted to rub into the Braves fans. Bill Hohn did the fist bump with a Marlins F2 last year (I think). I like F1's antics and that PU just kept saying "Hi Hee" with his signal. I might have to try that mechanic. Especially if the manager comes out, I just keep saying "Hi Hee" to him. It may stun him enough to shut him up and send him back to the dugout.

Have you seen the umpire on the MLB Network teaser? The guy's making cartoon strike calls with heather gray slacks and no ball bags. I swear to God--MLB Network! They can't even get it right.

I think so, There's a GEICO radio commercial out there too. The media has carte blanche to attack umpires, this effects us because this is what the media puts out there and every coach dad and clueless fan buys it hook line and sinker.

Good point ...but at least he's got the MLB Majestic black jersey on. And, ...did you notice, ...he's rocking a WILSON mask?!

It's always easiest to blame someone else instead of admitting that your team didn't make an ideal play.

Just another add making the umpire look like a complete moron. Set up that far outside, indicator in the wrong hand...about the only thing that was right about his mechanics was his timing...it certainly wasn't too quick.

yeah, the umpires are always made out to look like idiots.

Not to argue the point, but let's worry about the portrayal of other biases before we worry about umpires.
