First off it seems the younger the players the worse the coaches are.I was doing a machine pitch game (the second of the night) and the wheel on the machine was messed up and being very inconsistant. We struggled through the first game with no real problems but the second was a nightmare. Hc complaining all night we explained to both sides the problem a nd we were doing the best we could.Pu finally told him Thats Enough later in inning starts in on me I didn't know what I was doing. Gave him one more chance and explained about the machine called me a liar and it was never our fault and said it loud enough for fans to hear it.At that point I dumped him.was that too quick

First off, the coaches are worse at younger levels because they're often the parents of the players. As the players get older, the coaches become actual coaches.

Secondly, I will still never understand why you need umpires, much less TWO umpires, on a machine-pitch game.

Thirdly, your ejection was too late. Once PU tells him "That's enough," he doesn't get another shot.

I don't know what the situation is where you live but there has to be other ball out there for you. Look for another league, one with pitchers and start from the bottom. No one gains from umpires working machine pitched games - coaches need to learn to sort this out themselves. Assuming you get better with time, coaches behavior will improve with the level of ball you do (for the most part).

Last year I would have agreed that you don't need umpires in PM leagues. My nephew just spent two years playing in a PM league and I assure you, you need umpires. The OP is a prime example, coaches are stupid at that level. They are new to the system, don't know the rules, baseball ettiquitte or the simple concept of fairness. In the league my nephew played in the coaches called the game. So whoever was at bat ran the machine and called safes and outs. Then, amazingly enough, they have tournaments. :question1::WTF There they use two umpires. It still isn't pretty. In the leagues coaches are constantly arguing over safe/outs. Some coaches call it straight but others are obviously biased toward their teams.

Look, we understand you feel bad about ejecting a coach or player: it's not a fun thing to do, and we all second-guess ourselves after we do it. It's part of the job, and gets easier as we gain experience.. We get over it quickly. But, know what bothers us more? When we don't eject somebody that we know should have gone. That eats at us for a long time.

You did everything right: you did the best you could under the circumstances, you warned him, and he crossed the line. Good toss...

I agree with the toss. I meant to put that in my previous post but forgot in my defense of using umpires on PM. My only question in the OP is it seems the umpires are feeding the machine. They should not be doing that, let the coaches do it. Although you do have to watch them adjusting the speed and height of the machine. Actuaslly saw a manager get tossed for adjusting the machine for his team. :tantrum:

Write up Ejection Reports!

To the OP, it's a good toss, don't sweat it. Coming here to get some feedback will help you learn about the finer points of handling situations as you move through the ranks. But a long story short, anybody that wants to accuse you of cheating should get dumped immediately.

Yep and there's lots of ways to do that 'You gotta call that both ways', 'let the kids decide it blue', 'I hope we get that pitch', 'that's a makeup call', etc. etc. All of these comments will get a stern "Knock it off" from me. Anything further from the offender gets escalated quickly.

Any personal attack, gone.

And I as someone who is getting a bit fed up with youth games I actually like my machine pitch games. Or maybe its just the specific league I do machine pitch for which I actually like.

Fair/foul, catch/no catch, plays at home and some coverage at third. Remember, in 60ft the PU calls all lines and outfield catches.
