Why, because of an exclusivity agreement that has been made. So they finish out the current contract and then will have an exclusive agreement with Honigs. Such is the retail business.

Congrats to Jim and his crew at UA. However, lets remember that this is still a free marketplace and I'm fairly sure that this won't sit well with the brass at Honigs. Meaning they will work harder to keep NCAA contract and the MLB one. Jim has a great business model for us consumers. But he does face some stiff competition. He's going to have to create an in-house jacket or really work on his margins with either smitty or Majestic, in order to keep up with the demand. Also Hardwicks isn't going to continue to supply him with Poly-wool pants. So he'll need to find another quality distributor for the MiLB guys who've become accustom to that quality. All of these things are easily done but need and I'm sure will be addressed. But great marketing, social media and under cutting long held contracts can only go so far in this space. So I wish him the best and I look forward to what this competition means for us as consumers now that I'm sure he's awakened a sleeping giant. Just my $0.02

Danny, None of us are saying we don't still bust out the iron and starch bottle. But its a great way to keep it sharp longer and a great starting point to keep the creases consistent.

You did everything right, you were in position and gave your partner more information when asked. He should've never let the OC come out to you. He should've taken up the cross of his own call that you helped him with and taken it from the OC. If I was your partner and I see the OC coming out on you. I'm interjecting and saying, "(insert OC name here) if you want talk about that call come see me. It's my call and I changed it." Thats being a good partner.

I started when I was 14 in Jr High school. The school I went to required you to have a certain amount of hours of work experience and community service before you graduated. I saw all of my friends scrubbing dishes and what not. Then I found out I could umpire, once my volunteer hours where done I started getting paid. It kept me in the game I loved. Once in college I became a part of the local HS association and was told I was pretty good so I should keep it up. I have taken their advice thus far and never regreted a second of it.

even though there not nikes, take them or send them to a nike store. They will take your old shoes and mince them into the rest in order to make tracks for highschools/colleges. The biodegradable parts will be shredded and put into compose. That is assuming that your assessment is correct where they are "unusable" for a local league.

I will mirror everyone else here. I had been a contact wearer since grade school. I use to hate playing and working games in the wind and would always wear sunglasses behind the plate to protect my eyes from drying out, or getting dust in them. Three years ago I got LASIK and it was some of the best money I ever spent.

Matt: I recieved the email about this bat on Thursday March 22nd at 3:30pm from about 3 assignors and the central HUB. So I'm not sure why it took so long for you to get the information. As for FED, our UIC of our HS association & the one in charge of our state section are very in-tuned to the NCAA emails so we get stuff ASAP..... Don't know what else to tell you there.

There was actually an umpire in a local unit who would ask for a chair between innings. I was at his game when he went to sit down and the chair broke..... :shakehead:

I started with a GD, I can see why some people like it. Here are my issues with. GD himself gets blown up in this stance. I've been blown up thus the reason I changed. And honestly you "feel" more solid but if you block properly in the slot then you'll be just as solid yet safer, with your shoulders square to the plate. As for being that far back....... sorry I'm with finn on this one, i would't recommend it. Also knowing where you live most evaluators won't say much. But just remember that when your that "stiff" if you flinch or have to make any changes to fight for the slot it will be magnified and look like "discomfort" or "flinching" which will come as a nock on your eval. Just a few ideas, but if your comfortable in it, then have at it. And hopefully you won't have to write a review from a hospital bed.

Don't have an ego, go to your partner and let him give you what he's got doesn't matter where he is on the field. If they ask at all in NCAA GO! They've earned that right. As for the "half swing" in NCAA not check swing anymore. It states that if the Barrel Head of the bat crosses the players front hip. To answer your other question in the 3-man system in college now they want who ever is on the wing to get the half swing. It only matters LHB/RHB if both umpires are on the wings. Then you'd go to the corresponding umpire. IE... RHB = U1 LHB = U3 assuming their on the lines. "Rule 2-18, Check Swing (Change to Half Swing): At the beginning of the definition, add: An attempt by the batter to stop his forward motion of the bat on the swing and putting himself in jeopardy The ‘half swing’ might put the batter in jeopardy of a strike being called. The half swing shall be called a strike if the barrel head of the bat passes [delete--the front edge of home plate or] the batter’s front hip. Rationale: This is more in line with other rules codes and is a more accurate depiction of what umpires use to determine this call.
