  1. To clarify, take a look at the photo below. The shirt on the top has a structured collar that allows it is to maintain an upright shape. The shirt on the bottom connects the collar directly to the body and everything lays much more flat and a bit sloppy. Buttoning one or two of the buttons may fix this or look for a shirt that has a structured collar and you wont have exposure issues.
  2. What style/brand of shirt are you currently wearing? You may want to consider a shirt that has a structured collar where it actually stands up, and doesn't lay flat if the one you're wearing doesn't have one. This may help/solve the problem.
  3. +1 for the All-Star MVP. It is the highest quality HSM I have put my hands on and I appreciate the thoughtful innovation of Deflexion which is a thermoplastic rubber that acts much line a spring to absorb energy.
  4. This is from memory and a pre-production sample so forgive me if anything is incorrect. Hopefully some who has it can chime in or correct me if I am wrong. - I believe it was a tricot weave, weight was somewhere between 150-170gsm so lightweight. - The shirts had side panels with either a loose weave polyester mesh or poly/spandex. This went from the bottom hem to around the chest. - Quality was pretty standard for a shirt in this price range. Nothing stood out to me that I specifically questioned. - I do recall the chest pocket being rather narrow, but I don’t know what it actually measures out to.
  5. As long as I don't have to use a physical key I am good!
  6. I think it was very tastefully done with the contrast. It's not a Nike white on black and goes with some of the more tasteful touches an older New Balance line that was a slight contrast and damn near tone-on-tone.
  7. Oh sorry about that. It's the DX platform being used to test a more economical foam and some textiles for other projects in development. Unlikely to get released as an actual DX model and if it does it will be a limited one-time run. It is our 30th anniversary coming up after all so there's a chance it makes short appearance.
  8. The first batch of harnesses didn't include tri-glides to lock the straps in place. Adding them should completely resolve the issues if they're coming loose.
  9. @JSam21 got some bad info unfortunately. It's a TW Power. He took off the wing pads, gap plates and stickers are moved/removed for TV.
  10. Gerry is officially retired. No day-to-day activities but still puts his connections to work and consults on various R&D / product development.
  11. 100% agree. I've also never heard of someone complaining their All-Star mag broke, was dented or anything like that and I've never seen a product that was poorly manufactured from them. It's floating around AAA, we'll get there!
  12. Purely from an aesthetics stand point. That weld doesn't compromise it at all, it is solid.
  13. I don't know if this is actually a significant factor or not but there are just some folks who hate those welds.
  14. Well since the cat is out of the bag I may as well address this now, instead of in a few days. I have a PM chain with @AaronK. As Nick said, I bought the site a while back but this was personal and it is not owned by Gerry Davis Sports. Yes, I had plans but those were put on the back burner. But a few months ago we began upgrading the sites infrastructure and underlying code as we're moving it to a more modern stack. (well not me but this work is contracted) Given this is outside of my normal job, it hasn't been the highest priority and I was waiting for a detailed update on where things were at before I chimed in and updated AaronK. The site will remain simple, with the same existing resources but will be easier to maintain, contribute to and yes, may have some form of advertising to cover the costs. My plan was to make the site in a way so it could be contributed to by a select group of individuals (not a wiki) and expand the resources but still keep it topical and accurate. With that being said, if anyone is interest in volunteering or has ideas on how to make that happen I am all ears. As to what is Three Rivers Collective - simple. It is the shell company that holds the importer of record for Gerry Davis Sports.
  15. Had to do a double take there. Memorial Day sales apparently!
  16. This is a hard one... i want to emphasis that nothing can guarantee 100% protection from injury or concussion. There are far too many factors including biological, neurologic, genetics, etc. On paper, of the three above, #3 offers the most protection but it may not be the best for each individual. They will all be protective, much more so then all of the cheap pads on the market with there cushion foams but it's really going to come down to preferences, feel and weight for a lot of folks. It just makes it easy to either have no logo, the Davis logo or swap something else you want on there. Yes, it will but this specific design will should fit a lot of different frames. Dyna-Lite, Nike Ti, Adidas, Davis Trace, +POS ZRO-G, etc. We're working on verifying the fitment for various frames. The same concept will be brought to a universal design that should fit most traditional wire frame designs it's just a few months down the road.
  17. A sneak peek since I feel like we're getting down the home stretch here. The pads are a two part system. Covers/socks (outer) Cores/padding (inner) Initially, the cover will only be offered in black/black. The front is a fabric covered molded EVA foam and towards the face is a synthetic suede. Eventually, these will be offered in a multitude of color options and fabrics choices. The concept being simply remove the core, and swap it into a different cover based on your preference/style that day. Have a bunch of covers and a couple of cores depending on how much you like to switch it up. The front strap has loop so you can stick on your favorite Wilson yellow 'W' patch. There are plans right now for 3 cores. Only one will be released initially which will be vaguely labeled as #2 for now. All of this is still subject to change a bit. #1 - This core will most closely resemble the Wilson Memory Foam pads but are not made purely of a memory foam. It has a 1mm HDPE plate and then is comprised of a 3 layer laminate including two types of EVA foam and memory foam towards the face. #2 - This core is a compromise on performance and weight using multiple materials include D3O, our cross-linked foam and EVA. Like #1 it also includes 1mm HDPE plates and is die cut to reduce weight. #3 - This core is the most dense and like #2 will be die cut to reduce weight as much as possible. It again is a laminate that includes D3O, different density memory foams. For TW folks who like placing bricks on their face, this might be the go to.
  18. I appreciate that but this community and the larger community in general have helped immensely in the direction, feedback and in many cases with product concepts. @wolfe_man was instrumental with design feedback on our earliest DX Mk1 and Apex project and donated a ton of time to help us iterate on the initial concepts. @MadMax has been a test dummy, provided design thoughts, feedback and the upcoming mask pad concept is his idea. @concertman1971 helped immensely field testing the DX Enduro D3O and Mirage 12. He is probably also responsible for most of the sales to SoCal for them. Everyone else who has chimed in with feedback and or helped with field testing including @Razzer, @tpatience, @spiffdawg7. Thank you. If I forgot you, my apologies but I appreciate you as well.
  19. It's also worth noting that the cheaper one is made from ABS. ABS has lower impact resistance, is more brittle and does not disperse/spread energy nearly as well as polycarbonate.
  20. Past two days have been a slog for sure!
  21. Realistically I think we're a few months away before we launch the first options and early Q4 2025 before we have a myriad of options. You wouldn't want them as they are now but we're iterating and testing every couple of weeks to get them to the point where everyone who purchases them is hopefully very happy with the performance and package.
