  1. Hello, Is anyone looking to part ways with a used Nike ti mask? Please let me know, Thanks
  2. Why would one recommend having the shoulder gaps? How much does it impact the low profile? What are the pros and cons of having sidebuckles over the T hooks. All of my past protectors have been side buckles, but why would one use T hooks?
  3. I've tried the Davis DX, but the width of the shoulders is too wide for my liking.
  4. I am thinking of switching to a Douglas chest protector, but wanted to hear some opinions and comparisons to the All-Star Cobalt. 1. Is the Douglas padding a lower profile compared to the Cobalt? 2. How bulky are the shoulder pads? I am not that big of a person, and I would say that I am more slim and tall. Are the shoulder pads on the Douglas smaller and have a better curvature to them? Thank you
  5. Are the MLB guys wearing a white stitched variant of these shoes as well? Or are theirs black stitched?
  6. Does anyone have a fix for this issue I am having? Whenever I work the plate, the plastic shell that covers my shoulder is always visible, and I hate how it looks under my shirt. Is there a solution to this issue so that the chest protector isn't visible around my neck? I will attach an image for reference. As marked in the photo, this part of my protector is always visible no matter how much I try to adjust it. FYI, I do use shirt tucks, which are great but hasn't fixed this issue. Thank you
  7. I agree with you. I do try to grab as many strikes as possible or else I will be out there forever.
  8. Recently, I've been experimenting with the strike zone and changing how far in or out I am calling strikes. I normally umpire older guys for travel ball, usually 14u to 18u, and adjust my zone according to the level of play. Usually, with these travel ball games, I call strikes on pitches that are a ball out, and I try to be consistent with that throughout the game. However, there are times when a catcher sets up two balls out(right on the line of the box), and whenever the pitch hits that spot, I call "ball that's out," and the coaches/players start to complain how my zone is very tight. Vice versa I have had times where it's the complete opposite, where they complain about how big my zone is. Realistically, I am NOT calling pitches two balls out, no matter how good the pitch is, because I feel it is unfair as a hitter and pretty much impossible to get a good piece when the ball is crossing the other batter's box. I feel like my biggest pet peeve is when a catcher sets up way out in the opposite batter's box, and coaches asking me where that pitch missed after he frames it, trying to make it look like he caught it down the middle. Another instance would be when a pitch is way out and the coach would complain, "Where did that miss? The catcher didn't even move his glove." And the worst part is when parents sitting in the stands way down first base think they see exactly where the pitches are. This makes me sometimes consider calling a game from where the parents are sitting, just because they think they see the zone much better from where they are. With all this, can someone advise me on how far in or out you guys are calling and what a fair strike zone for the level of play I am working with? Also, is it right to tell the catcher how far I am calling out or in just so they know where to set up?
  9. I am trying to seek advice on how I can stay consistent on the pitches low in the zone. I tend to struggle with keeping my zone consistent with the low pitches, as sometimes I get fooled by the catcher's framing, even though I try very hard to track the ball only with my eyes. Other times, I just really can't tell where the knees exactly are with some of the hitters, due to their pants being baggy etc. If anyone has any advice or tips that could help me out, that would be appreciated.
  10. That was my initial thought as well, the platinum is definitely way bulkier. He may have retrofitted.
  11. Hello, Can anyone identify what chest protector Willie Traynor was wearing yesterday in his first appearance as a PU in the MLB? Thank you in advance.
  12. Hello, Does anyone here know how I can remove creases from my UMP life ball bags? I’ve tried using iron steam to soften up the material but seems to be out of luck. Thanks
  13. I am looking to buy an all star cobalt chest protector. If anyone is willing to sell for a good price please let me know. Thank You
  14. Want to get it as close or identical to the color of my Nike ti
  15. Interesting... learned some new stuff. I saw a guy getting his mask done by him in a color called "Brushed Aluminum" and that color seemed pretty close to a titanium look. What do you think?
