Stay at the plate. No reason to go there. If they need/want a reason, they can request time and, if granted, come out to talk to you. You kind of self-defeated the attempt to keep the ball live and the game moving. I follow what you're saying but, personally, I balance this with yelling across the field. If you can get to inning break then great, but sometimes they just won't let you get there.

"Well, not today, Coach. We're keeping the ball live and in play." Good on the team for having F2 do it vs calling out codes from the dugout. They need to now take the final step of doing it with a live ball. There is minimal negative to doing it right. Pitcher has ball & catcher is alert and positioned in front of the plate if R3 tries to come home.

I have this CP. I like it as change from a Champro softside but am interested in making it feel less poofy and look a svelte as it feels. "repositioning the ailettes" Are you referring to #1 in the attached photos? Did you move them up? "removed pectoral wings" Are you referring to #2 in the attached photos? "removing the completely unnecessary EVA-foam "winglets" Is that #3? Looking at it, I'm not sure I see the value of 3, and 4 (though that is the structure #2 sits on and I'm round, er, wide enough that I think I want to keep #2) and #1 makes everything "poofy" without much value added. I've also felt the I want to ride it higher for the neckline to be in right place but that makes the shoulders feel too high.

To add to the litany of LL horrors, I've noticed that LL fields are more likely to have a short and/or covered backstop and ball wills ricochet back on you vs 90' fields are generally larger and may have no overhang. Also, I find the HSM has larger field of vision which is something I struggled with early on my traditional mask and why I went to HSM.

I tried it in the pocket. No bueno. I use the pocket. It's been warm here and I've taken to wearing the jock, cup, and my plate pants. That's it. It's been working well for me.

Do you wear the NB with the Diamond jock? I tried once and couldn't get a good position (it was bad) so went back to the Diamond cup.

Yes, the diamond has a pocket with a covering lip of fabric. I'm not familiar with the NB system (I only own the cup).

100%. I newly found this and love it. I took a square shot one bounced fastball Sunday and was fine (as fine as you can be). The cup itself has some flex in it and I think that helps. Also, their jock strap design with cup holder is excellent.

First part, yes: NFHS 8-2-5 If a runner who misses any base (including home plate) or leaves a base too early, desires to return to touch the base, he must do so immediately. So.... is this where we ended up? R1, less than 2 outs. R1 does not tag up on a caught fly ball. Fielder throws ball out of play and: Scenario 1. R1 had acquired R2 before fielder released the ball. R1 awarded home. All rule sets. Scenario 2. R1 had not acquired R2 before fielder released the ball. R1 awarded 3rd. All rule sets. However, in both cases R1 is liable to be put out on proper appeal unless retouches 1st base though ruleset matters: - Under FED, if R1 is past 2nd base when the ball goes out of play he cannot retouch and is liable to be out on appeal. - Under OBR & NCAA & LL, R1 is allowed to retouch 1st while ball is the dead (including retouching 2nd if already passed) BUT once R1 retouches 1st base the award is amended to 3rd base

And I don't see it in my 2021 MiLBUM (but I only have hard copy so can't search).

I think Bristol was giving you the interp i remember from PBUC but I think you are misremembering what they said about where the runner is at "OB". It's where the runner is at release of wild throw.. Ok, did a lot of digging (and likely need @Senor Azul to weigh in since this cite is dated). Here's what I found from a 2012 PBUC I found online: 6.11 AWARD MADE FROM ORIGINAL BASE AFTER CATCH If a runner is forced to return to a base after the catch, he must retouch his original base even though, because of some ground rule or other rule, he is awarded additional bases. He may retouch while the ball is dead (provided the runner does so before reaching the next base - see Section 6.12, "Retouching Bases When Ball is Dead"), and the award is made from his original base. (See Casebook Comments following Official Baseball Rule 7.05(i).) EXAMPLES: Play 2: Runner on first, one out. Batter flies out to right field for second out. How- ever, runner on first thought there were two out and is between second and third when the ball is caught. Right fielder's throw to first is wild and goes into dugout. Runner is between second and third when ball goes out of play. Ruling 2: Runner is awarded home (two bases from his position at the time of the throw). However, while the ball is dead, he must return to and retouch first base. Furthermore, since he was between second and third when the ball went out of play, he must return to first before he reaches and touches third (the next base). If he touches third, he may not return to first; and if the defensive team appeals, he is out at first. Batter hits a line drive which strikes the pitcher in the back, flies into the air and is caught by the third baseman for an out. ... The third baseman throws to first, attempting to double the runner off first base; however, his throw is wild and goes into the stands... When the ball goes out of play, the runner from first has rounded second base (touching second as he rounded it) and is several steps towards shortstop. a) What is the proper award? Ruling: Third base - two bases from the time of the pitch because this is the first play by an infielder. b) What if the runner is beyond second base at the time of the throw? Is the award then home? Ruling: No, the award is still third because the throw was the first play by an infielder .... d) May the runner return to first base to retouch after he touches third base? Ruling: No. (See preceding question and ruling.) e) What if the runner attempts to return to first base after he touches third base? Should the umpire stop him from doing so? Ruling: No. The umpire should not intervene in any way other than to realize that after the runner has touched third, his retouch of first is meaningless. After touching third base, if the runner should attempt to retrace his steps while the ball is dead (from third, back to second, back to first, then to second, and finally to third), the umpire would not physically stop the runner from doing so. However, the runner's retouch of first base would not correct the fact he left too soon because when the ball is dead, the runner must correct his base running error before he touches the next base. [Velho's added notation: defined as 3rd base in this play] ... g) In this play, how can the runner correct the fact he left too soon? Ruling: When the ball is dead (out of play), the runner should stop advancing towards third and retrace his steps in order, touching second and then first (all before touching third base). He should then advance to third (his awarded base) by touching second and then third, in order. h) If the runner goes directly to third base on the award and does not retouch first base while the ball is dead), may the defense appeal the fact the runner left too soon at first? Ruling: Yes, after the ball is put back in play, the defense may appeal by tagging the runner or first base. (See Official Baseball Rule 7.10(a).)

So even if they retouch 1st base they still get home That's what we're working to sort out.

The count of the first pitch to the batter is used for rest tier determination, i.e. if pitcher finishes batter1 at 19, they can pitch to batter2 and still be considered as not exceeding 20 pitches for the day. See LL rulebook Regulation VI (c) and (d) for the rule. I suppose so for the "official box score" and Grandma's bragging rights of a 68 pitch complete game that was considered as a 65 tier needign 3 days of rest.

Because the 2 base award is determined from the runner's position at the time of the throw. The award of home (2nd base + 2 bases) is separate from the runner attempting to retouch.
