  1. OMG that is absolutely adorable! Happy Father's day! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  2. Anyone know who these umpires are? I'm a little suprised they aren't listed on the Web site. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  3. If they are still comfortable, take them to a cobbler before throwing them out. A good cobbler has a way of making faded blacks into true blacks again that will last for several years. My dad has a favorite pair of loafers that have been re-dyed (?) a few times. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  4. Is this what you have or what you want? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  5. Has anyone tried the cool catcher helmet cooling system? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  6. I have a hard time believing, even if they don't know you well, that you are seen as "just a member". Assigners know who their quality umpires are, even the traveler umps. We have lots of jabbermonkies, the only way to possibly have an effect is to talk to the assigner. When I worked in the Chiefs office, we got lots of reports on umpires, good bad and ugly from all different directions, but the most reliable was always the partners. Some, the chief would talk to the umpire, others, there was no correcting but it does effect what games they're allowed to get assigned. I would call or email the assigner, and treat it as you would an employee eval, two good, one bad, then suggestions on how to correct it. After that, it's in his court on how to handle it. 7. Most of our site directors are pretty good at the rules, if there is a rule they don't know they refer to either the complex UIC or our associations UIC. It does help that our UIC is on an equal footing with the TDs, they need him and us as much as we need their business. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  8. I'd go look at the Nike running shoes. Plenty of mesh and look nice. Lots of our guys wear running shoes for travel ball, especially when you're doing 5 slots in 95+ degrees. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  9. Utrip put out a late list of additional illegal bats, and I don't remember seeing that one on it but you may check their Web site. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  10. He has to offer at the pitch. Putting a bat out to bunt or leaving a bat out during a bunt without attempting to strike at the ball isn't an offer either. So, without seeing it, I'd say you got this one wrong. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  11. I would still consult an engineer with a background in metal properties. Adding heat, bends, or cuts to different metals can change the flex allowances greatly. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    hit by pitch

I would say the ruling is correct. A swing is an attempt to strike at the ball, merely moving a bat around does not meet that definition. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  13. How are you planing on making this if you are unaware of metal properties? I would consult an engineer or at least a fabricator of good respect. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  14. What's funny is that coach totally buffed the meaning of it anyways. The shoe Polish was to prove he got hit, not anything to do with hitting the dirt before hitting the batter. Awe coaches... They make life entertaining. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  15. I had an assistant coach tonight swear up, down, and sideways, that a pitch that hits dirt before hitting a batter, then it's just a ball because of the shoe Polish rule. (he wasn't a jerk about it, just swears its a real thing) Anyone ever heard of this thing before? I chuckled at him and told him that no where in the rules book does it say anything about shoe Polish and a hit by pitch is a hit by pitch. Head Coach just laughed and told me to ignore the ex college player/lawyer. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  16. I did laugh at a 12u coach this weekend. 3-2 count, ball hits the hands on a swing, I kill it and signal the strike. Coach comes busting out with "that's a foul ball, hands are apart of the bat". I start chuckling because this is 12 select ball, usually these are pretty decent coaches. As the coach starts turning red I realized he was serious. "oh, you were serious, uh, no coach. That's a dead ball strike." I had one game that was full of doozies like that, it was all I could do to keep from loosing it laughing. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  17. Yes! I was withdrawaling. I'm in town this weekend doing tournaments, it's nice to have Internet again and be able to brush up. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  18. I love the flipflop rule! Not for the pros but I'd about kill to have it in kiddie tournaments. We used it in slow pitch and it really sped things up. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  19. Sorry I haven't been around, no Internet until maybe this summer at the homestead but I'm in town and saw this: http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/mlb-extra-innings-runner-on-second-base-report-joe-torre-020817 Personally, I don't think I'd care to see this as a fan at the MLB levels but I love using it in kiddie games. Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  20. I love my ancient stainless Markwort that I stole from the UIC. Can't seem to find another one as heavy and nicely built. I've ordered a few Markworts and a few other brands but the oldie is still the best. I love it so much it has its own case in my trunk and if anything happens to it I'll have hubs do his metal magic on it. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

  23. Wow, that thing is glaringly inadequate and the fact that dicks is even selling that reiterates my issues with that company. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  24. Can you put up a pick? I'll have my son look around while he's looking for my shoes. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
