  1. An important point that has been mentioned already but worth repeating, the umpires have to have ruled that the infield fly rule applied. In youth ball ordinary effort can be a fickle thing especially if the players are struggling to catch anything that game.
  2. Plate shoes, especially in a wide size would be most welcome. I'm quite fond of the New Balance shoes and the new ones coming out look excellent but having options is always good.
  3. Awesome, thanks Matt!
  4. Does anybody have an idea on how the Majestic Cool Base jacket runs on sizing?

    i messed up

Well at least you own that rule now.
  6. Really? Seemed pretty obvious to me and according to my optometrist, my eyes suck.
  7. I don't think this would be a bad change. It would give us the chance to talk out some little things instead of having to wait between innings. I know there have times when there's been some things I wanted to discuss with my partner between innings and then the inning ends on a controversial call and I avoid going in because of it.
  8. Velcro is not needed in my experience. The pen sits just fine inside the spine when the holder is closed.
  9. To echo MidAmUmp, you let them run roughshod over you in an attempt to keep people in the game. Also I think there was too much done in terms of bringing coaches out and trying to explain to them. They crossed the line early in the game and you kept letting them do it. I don't care if it was a playoff game, if they deserve it, eject them.
  10. I can't fault you too much for this. I don't think the rule is clear enough on this point. The logic of why it isn't a balk makes sense, especially once it is explained, but I don't think it is very easy to pick up from just reading the rules.
  11. Exactly. The 2nd out in the FPSR penalty is intended to be punitive.
  12. They're not the only game in town and not the only company making great products. Your non-stop evangelism of them is not endearing IMO.
  13. I'd just cut them off. I suppose you could tape them down.
  14. How much is Force3 paying you to be their shill? I think we get it, you like Force 3 stuff.
  15. I think I'm going to be waiting on this to see how it filters down.
  16. All Star seems to use a different nomenclature from most manufacturers. What All-Star is calling a double knee most seem to call a triple knee. All Star's single knee is more like what those call a double knee. Force3 calls that similar style a double knee. Check out Ump Attire's page to see what I mean: https://www.ump-attire.com/Baseball-Umpire-Equipment/Gear-Footwear/Shin-Guards/?page=1&perpage=24&cat=144&orderby=price%20desc&brand=&search= I get now that you're asking about the extra plate above the knee cap. I don't care for those myself.
  17. Those are double knee shin guards, not single. Based on design, the only single knee shinguard I think I'd trust is the All-Star and that's because there's an extra plate over the area below the knee. The other single knee shinguards that are out there are on the lower end. I wear Pro9 double knee shinguards right now but they're due to be retired. They've done the job but I'm going with the Force 3 double knee next. Though I have been hit on the lower thigh above the knee, I do not like how restrictive the bulky triple knee shinguards are.
  18. Ah the joys of offgassing with newly manufactured products. That's what the new car smell is after all.
  19. Lest I get hoisted with my own petard, I'll just say...
  20. So what do they eject for over there?
  21. But definitely a better logo. That right there is worth $150. $345 for Honig's plate shoes. I know a lot of people missed the old style of shoe from +POS and Honigs but I had no idea it was like that. I wonder if there was some emotional bidding going on there?
  22. I have a set of orange lenses for my Oakley fast jackets and they work great for low light / cloudy days. I can see the ball so much better in those conditions. I wore them just yesterday and when the clouds start clearing and it got brighter, I was able to switch lenses out to my polarized sunglasses lenses between innings.
  23. I had no idea where to put this. It didn't seem important enough to put in Announcements. You're too kind and likewise! Hope to do it again soon.
  24. That makes sense. I figured there had to be a reason you didn't mention it.
