  1. I don't have a violation in any rule set because the BR had already reached first base before the put out occurred at second. (NCAA see the Exception; NFHS requires the non-slide to be an effort to prevent a double play)

  2. It is what a Dutch Auction is...though...correct?

  3. In the judgment of the umpire, was the batter trying to hit the pitch? I would just add a ball to the count and get on with it.

  4. This is my last post. I retired from umpiring at the completion of this HS season. With this season, my family has completed 100 years of umpiring. My grandfather started umpiring in 1926. He umpired at many levels and even worked a charity game in West New York, NJ that included Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig as participants. I am attaching a picture of the news article I found if anyone is interested in a true baseball legacy. Strikes and Outs!

  5. I'm not sure you know how this works. You can go back and read it, or I can explain it to you while I'm here. I added pads and a harness so that it was more sellable. However, I still start the price high, then reduce the price, until it sells. You could have just not commented, and watched it in action.

  6. Yes, if the Cubs had handled it correctly there would be at least one and maybe two outs and the no call would be much more controversial on the offensive side. But would those umps have used the no call in error interp and negate a DP?

  7. As comes up often, if / since there is ambiguity of the rule, look to the purpose of the rule. Defenses wanting IFF called always makes me laugh.
