Question

Kids on 2nd and 3rd. Wild pitch, 3rd scores. Kid on 2nd is half way to 3rd (roughly 30ft away) as the catcher throws to 3rd so he turns around and returns to 2nd. Throw from catcher is high and fielded by LF who returns it to 3rd after runner is safely back to 2nd. Mind you hes a 185lb 10 yo so he doesnt turn on a dime. He more loops around. Ump calls him out of baseline for an out. Says the throw to 3rd even though it was high and not caught by 3rd baseman was a play on the runner. What do you think?

"Throw" "to third" "high" "not caught" "was a play" . . . I'm thinking there is a significant key word missing in that umpire's justification . . . TAG?
