Hello everyone. Today I wore my Wilson platinum double knee shin guards. While working the plate, the sg's would ride up under the tongue of my NB 450's. It was a nuissance during the game and I couldn't get them to stay over the tongue of my plate shoes without them riding back up. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem, or how I can go about fixing this issue? Thanks in advance!

Maybe adjust your SG straps?

Since this is the first time I've heard of these shins riding up ...I have 2 thoughts ........

1) are they the right size for you? Or are they too big?

2) I'd have to see the shins, but I'm assuming the met-plate is out of these because you have the 450s?

Hey guys thanks for the replies. They are the correct size at "17 and fit me well, but that is the only problem I have. Can strapping them differently be the case? I did not X strap them, i just strapped them straight across. This is how I wear them before they start to ride up behind the tongue of the shoe.post-1436-0-66692200-1302802145_thumb.jp

I had the exact same issue when I wore the same shin/shoe combination. The problem is the hard plastic on the bottom of the shin guard is getting caught on the top of the New Balance protection plate. This causes the shinguard to ride on top of the shoe and makes it very uncomfortable to run. The best way to fix this is to adjust the shin guard inner lining (which is removable) such that you have some space between the shoe and the plastic of the shin guard.

I could never get it right and ended up moving to Reebok plate shoes with the triple knee (black) shinguard. I haven't ha a problem since.

This is how I solved it too.

Despite what you say I think the shin guards are to long. Maybe borrow someones in a 16 inch and see.

Can not tell by the pic if you have removed this plate or are tucking it under the plate on the shoe. If you havent simply cut it off, with plate shoes it is not needed.

This is a good change the Wilson folks made... probably with some input from Jim Kirk and us. On the newer models, this is now removeable without having to cut it off.

I love this snip from the UA Shin Guards Buying Guide:

"Some are simply attached with Velcro (Diamond DLGiX3) and others can only be cut off with a sharp instrument (Wilson Pro and Charcoal styles). If the latter, please cut responsibly and preferably without your leg attached."

The first thing I did when I bought these SG's, was take a box cutter and cut off the toe protector.

Was your leg attached at the same time?

Hey guys, thanks for all of the suggestions. Today I strapped my sg's differently using the X (cross) style, which worked great! My first time wearing these sg's, I strapped them straight across, which I believe lead to them riding up. I believe I have corrected the issue, and had a good game today with my sg's staying in place and not riding up. Thanks again!

Apparently I didn't have the sg's strapped correctly, thats why they would tend to ride up on me. I have corrected that, and the sg's no longer move!
