Was this a case of making the expected call and letting replay take care of it? Or MLB umps being so close to the play? I saw his foot go over the base the first time, in real speed.

I'm sure NY has more angles, but from this clip I don't see definitive proof that R2's left knee didn't hit the plate before the tag on his left thigh. TT seemed to be in a perfect spot.

That's the issue I've seen with replay this year.....inconsistent.... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

That's a tough call in real time. Heck that's still a tough call in slo-mo. Timmons was definitely in the best position to see it that was physically possible on that play. I wish we had a camera angle that showed his view in real time. The only thing that I think would have allowed Timmons to se the leg over the plate would be had he had the chance to work a little lower but given the way the play developed where he had to move around it he didn't have that luxury.
