Last night I worked my 200th game of the season (then 201st as it was a double-header :)).  This was in addition to my full time job so it has been a busy, busy, busy spring/summer. Now there's a few weeks off and then bring on fall ball!  I'm shooting for 300 games for the year.  Obviously I'm a glutton for punishment.

Wow!  Congrats I guess.

There's no way, I would work or want to work that many games.  Not even half that many.  Is that like $10K?

Awesome! I'm sitting at 200 (stupid rain, lost 38 games to it!) right now and waiting for fall ball to start. I'll only make about 225 - 250 because fall ball here is all training leagues and only sundays. I've been wrangled into doing HS softball so there's a slight possibility I might hit more.

I try to stay with in 60-80 game range high school, adult league summer and fall ball. That range works for still have family time, time hunt, fish ,fightfires and ride  my Ultra. But again that is my range that works for money pays for family vacations so it is all good.

Close...  :D

I'm 48 so it's been a lot of work but a labor of love for sure.  Very much enjoyed games.

I had 28 games rained out and another 24 cancelled from an early HS league that.  I won't be working this many games next year.  This year was all about paying off debt (we'll be debt free except for the house come Feb.).  Next year game fees are going to a cruise next July.

Man, I'd be happy to get 100.  This year, I've got a shot, depending on the fall goes.

We need to fire about 40 guys from the association, just to guarantee the 100, and maybe approach 150, never mind getting 200 or more..  Unless I go rogue.

Once again, WOW!  I don't get it (working so many games), but I applaud those that do.

I'm a stay at home wife so it's easy for me. Keeps me in purse and decorating money and keeps my 42 year old butt from sagging without going to the gym.

I did 180 this year for about the 3rd year in a row (and I am burned out). I need to cut down starting next year, or otherwise I will not be on the field for many more seasons due to being burned out.

Here in AZ I work with dozens of umpires that go 3 or 4 months with 1 or 2 days off. I work a full time "real" job but My game count is well over 300 for the year. You just have to develop good routines and try and bring it every game, every situation. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk

I'm sure you were all waiting for The Road Umpire to tally up his games...

Including 3 weeks at Cooperstown Dreams Park (where an umpire like me lost 6 games on Week 4's monsoon), and not including Fall Ball (which, do we count those as games or as babysitting sessions?)... I'm at 207. Woof. The 12-15 game tournament weekends are what really puts mileage on the tires. If any League Directors, coaches or parents want more (and better quality) umpires to cover their games, then I heavily definitely recommend scheduling night games, putting the start times at 5:30 and 7:45-8:00. That way, umpires like yours truly can book two games per night.

I've had the last week-and-a-half off of umpiring and I'm starting to develop a twitch. If I don't bang someone out soon, I'll forget how.

It's been two weeks since I have had a game.  Withdrawal is kicking in.  I will proabably be back on a football field next Friday so three weeks without a game will be an eternity.

You guys that work over 200 games, what do ya'll make per year?  Not an exact total, just a ball park.  It's gotta be $10-12K.
