Now, see, what better incentive is there to sign up for the 2015 Mid-American Umpire Clinic than to witness the epic $hit$how known as @GreyhoundAggie?!?!?!?!

Steven should get a clinic discount for that "advertisement".

Just in case you didn't see this on Facebook & Twitter...

From the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School:

"We want to promote a terrific clinic experience and opportunity for our umpire friends. The Mid-American Umpire Clinic has been a Wendelstedt affiliated clinic for some time now, however, this year will also include on their staff our professional course's Chief of Instruction. We will also provide a number of give-a-ways, resources, and discounts for those looking to attend our professional course in January! You can't go wrong with this clinic. It has a tremendous staff and great instruction. It will be held Sept. 10-13 in Springfield, MO. Sign up today!"

It is worth twice the price for that Jason ;) Baseball and a comedy show all for one low price.

Shameless plug for the affiliated Mid-American Umpire Clinic-Kansas City 3 Man.

http://www.midamericanumpireclinic.com/kchome.html

I just signed up a couple of days ago.  Some of same instructors as the two man clinic in Springfield.  Dates are 25-27 September.  A little more expensive ($300, $25 discount for U-E premium members) but still a great price.

Jeff Henrichs, CWS Crew Chief this year and for several years past is a GREAT instructor (been to two clinics with him) and he knows almost anybody and everybody in college baseball.  Our own Jason Blackburn is an instructor.  You work LIVE Games and get video of your work with individualized feedback MULTIPLE times.

If you cannot make the early September (10th - 13th) clinic date but haven't worked college ball or aren't sure you want to but still want umpire training these guys can and WILL make you better.

There have been several non-college, relatively inexperienced umpires attend in the past and it was amazing to watch the instructors work with those guys and you could see them improving right before your eyes.  For one guy the transformation was unbelievable.   He wasn't really fit to work Rec Ball and now he is a respected High School umpire in Mid-Kansas.  I got a report from a friend of mine who worked with him in playoffs that this guy was kicking ass and was a great partner.

Plus, you will get to meet me. Hahaha! Who knows, I may get froggy and cook up a bunch of BBQ for my U-E buds who attend.  I may even rent out the extra bedroom in my apartment to a deserving U-E member for a low-low price.  I live 13 miles from the clinic hotel and 18 miles from where our instruction and some of our games will be and I am pretty central to other game sites.

Why am I going?  I've been to 7 other College baseball umpiring clinics and two high school clinics. I'm 53 years old.  I already work college D2 and below.  But, you know what?  You never stop learning.  You can never be good enough.  All the camaraderie with fellow umpires.  Hell, who knows, with all the expansion of D1 conferences to 4 man and many D2 conferences to 3 man I may get to move up, it could happen.  But, that's not my primary goal.  I just want to be the absolute best umpire I can be and going to a clinic and putting yourself out there to be evaluated, critiqued and coached up by guys who have been professionally trained, are former professional umpires and are current D1 and CWS level umpires cannot hurt.  In fact, it can only help.

I heard last night from one of the instructors, sometime partner, that the attendance is capped at 55 and there are already 20 signed up.  So, better hurry.  It will fill up.

Jfc if @Majordave is going to be there AND cooking...just crossed one clinic off my list...

The more I read about these, the more fun it sounds to skip school to go umpire for three days...and also more difficult to convince my parents to let me go. #YoungUmpProbs

@Majordave I'll be at the three man clinic as well - I'm going to hold you to that promise of bbq. Already looking forward to it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

Wish I could make it. It's my son's senior year and I'm not going to miss any of his football games...not even for umpiring. Next year, though.

I missed some umpiring opportunities to watch my son play HS ball. Last year that son and I both attended this very camp.
So don't sweat it...there's plenty of time.

I am going to the 3 man clinic in K.C. this weekend! I just worked a college fall ball scrimmage this afternoon and my partner is also going. He said there are a few open spots and talked me into going. Looking forward to meeting Dave, Steven, and Jason for sure! Anybody else going?

If we could only convince Jason and crew to move their camp just a little bit west... like to the coast!

We can take the show on the road. Just get with your local association and figure out if there is enough interest. PM me or e-mail me and I'd be happy to discuss it.

Well several members from my HS association are on this board... @grayhawk for one and @magic for another.

What do you think Gents... think we could rouse enough interest in our group to make this thought worth while?

It's certainly worth discussing.  I think it would be wise to understand how it's different from other established clinics that are out here.
